Not only was the Seton Hall victory great and a signature win for NCAA at large consideration, but it sets up another critical matchup for RPI purposes with Virginia. It mirrors last year when URI beat Cinci at Mohegan Sun. These big first day game wins the last two seasons set up subsequent games with Duke and Virginia instead of Penn State and Vanderbilt. Games with the likes of Duke and Virginia, regardless of outcome, pay dividends all year long.

I feel good about this one!
I can see us struggling offensively, but I feel like they also will struggle with our defense.
So excited for this tomorrow!
If we win the trash I'll get to talk to aaaalll the Virginia fans I know including my boss and my Dad.

UVA defense is unique and tough to crack. I’ve watched them for years and the only team to have regular success has been West Virginia. They press a lot and their guards break the pac line and drive to the hoop. Guards driving to the hoop is the key. Will be a tough game.

When UVA holds their opponents to less than 50 points they win over 97% of the games. To have any chance we have to score at least one and a half points a minute. Meaning we have to score at least 60 points otherwise, we lose. However, if we can score 65 points we have a real good shot at winning.

I think that was a decent GW team and it was a home game
We have the guards to give them some trouble
We need Stan and JT to be real hot early like tonight and Dowtin and Jarvis to get going

You can stretch that back to the Nevada game, too, with HC mixed in. Nevada is as good as any of these other teams we play, IMO.

Agreed TP . I thought Nevada was at least as tough as Seton Hall and more balanced. Hope they can shoot like they did

I think Nevada has the best player we've seen in Caroline.
At the very least Nevada created more match up issues for us.

I don't know if they're "really bad," but they squeaked by UNC-Asheville 79-76 at home last week as one point of comparison. Virginia will be really tough to score against, but I don't know if they have the firepower to put up a ton of points against our defense, either. Should be an interesting game.

Having to watch tony Bennett’s offense for 40 mins should get you into heaven by default , not going to be an easy game and will need to be very disciplined on D

Going to be an interesting game, on Kenpom Virginia is currently first in defense and dead last in tempo. Hopefully we can get out to a hot start again, will be very difficult to play from behind against them.

Will have to stay hot from perimeter. They aren’t going to give us many paint touches or dribble drives. Probably the most unique and disciplined defensive team in the country. Don’t have the same firepower on O that they had with Perrantes and Co but still very formidable.

Try to grab a quick lead and let them try to play from behind and force them to be more up-tempo on offense which is not their strength. Maybe that will lead to more turnovers and fast break points to avoid their halfcourt defense.

I'm sure Jared is going to get plenty of defensive attention, maybe even some doubles. Va. saw what he did last night. They will make someone else beat them. Who will step up? Jarvis needs to look for his shot more. He's my pick.

My big concern is how much Jared has left in "his tank" after playing hard for 38 minutes last night. Virginia routed Vandy from the outset and will be a much fresher team.
