Re: Elijah Wood
It will be fun in a couple of years to look back at these recruits and see what happened to them
It is so far in the future
Like when we offered Markelle Fultz when he was in middle school

Re: Elijah Wood
Frodo taking his talents to Tulane.
DMV kid who is highly ranked at a position of need going to a lesser school and a re-tread HC who has done nothing at Tulane. Not sure how involved Rhody was but if we were in on this kid it’s a little disappointing.
Long time before he suits up for Tulane and Dunleavy is doing a lot of losing so I wouldn’t be surprised if this kid backs off his commitment at some point, especially if his stock rises.

Re: Elijah Wood
I hear reports all over the place on this kid. I've talked to High Major coaches who were going to watch him. I know that our guy Slim has his opinion on his game, and has definitely seen him play more then I have.

Re: Elijah Wood
Correct. Truly overhyped. Struggling against D3 type talent. Avg maybe 7pts, and living off of early hype because he was 6”6 freshman. Imo not D1 player unless he improves. Played the other night & went scoreless against weak competition and D3 kid gave him 30. Social media can make you or break you. Lol

Re: Elijah Wood
I had no idea Dunleavy was coaching Tulane and pretty amazing that an ex NBA coach could crap the bed so bad as a college coach 4-26 ouch

Re: Elijah Wood
Now that we’re back in the mix is he still overrated and overhyped? Asking for a friend.

Re: Elijah Wood
Jake’s source is probably Elijah or his coach. They try to build interest by putting schools that were interested.ramster wrote: ↑5 years agoSo now we are in looking at him? I have concern about the lack of hype around our program.

Quite the twists and turns in this thread...
Standing by to learn his status of over-ratedness.

Re: Elijah Wood
I’m all in on this kid just based on his offers and rankings. Odd recruitment that does seem to be all over the map, literally. Officials to Long Beach State, Ole Miss and now URI with a verbal to Tulane mixed in along the way.

Re: Elijah Wood
I wonder how many of those schools actually offered though. The wording of the tweet says "involved" which can mean pretty much anything.

Re: Elijah Wood
I have never seen him play, but from DC Rams and Rhody83’s comments who have watched him I didn’t think I have ever be less excited for a player just outside the top 100. What his story the last 3-4 months?

Re: Elijah Wood
I didn’t comment on Elijah. I have not seen him play.
It was DC and Slim who commented. Both stating that he was overrated or overhyped.

Re: Elijah Wood
My story isn’t changing. Not impressed with the kid. I don’t get paid the big bucks though. Chances are high we will end up with this kid this weekend. However, because the times I’ve seen him on the circuit, I wasn’t impressed, but that doesn’t mean that automatically disqualify him as a 4* recruit. You guys care more about rankings than I do.

Re: Elijah Wood
Wood is a junior, in the class of 2020 according to everything I've read.ramster wrote: ↑5 years ago He decommitted from Tulane on March 17 and he is still available at the end of May?
Something seems wrong with this picture? Why wasn’t he picked up by now?
Are we just filling a slot now?
Heard we stopped recruiting 2019’s some weeks ago but and would focus only on 2020 and 2021 candidates but now have signed Toppin and now maybe Wood too?

Re: Elijah Wood
Murray St and Alabama were in to see him within the last month. Ja Morant tweeted the kid telling him to “choose Murray.” Both schools have offered. Murray St is really after him. Ole Miss has offered as well, he visited last month.

Re: Elijah Wood
Spot on!! We agree! He hasn’t improved and has more social media hype than real basketball game. I bet he would commit to his stock continues to drop.DC_Rams wrote: ↑5 years ago My story isn’t changing. Not impressed with the kid. I don’t get paid the big bucks though. Might be worth a shot. He has the physical skills.
He would have a full year to watch and learn from Dowtin.
