Berkmar lost Wednesday night at Chattahoochee HS by 25 points

JOHNS CREEK — Cam Blount finished with a team-high 18 points, but wasn’t enough for No. 5 state-ranked (AAAAAAA) Berkmar, which fell on the road at fourth-ranked (AAAAAA) Chattahoochee 67-42 on Wednesday.
Blount was the only Patriots (0-2) player in double figures, though Elijah Wood and Dara Olonade each finished with nine points.

While Grayson had four payers ind double-figure scoring, Dara Olonade was the only player to join Blount in double figures for Berkmar with 10 points to go with a game-high seven rebounds.

With Sheppard's status likely still up in the air for next season, and Johnson maybe not contributing, it's imperative Cox fills this last open scholarship.

Do we know if Sheppard will have one or two years of eligibility? I believe it’s one but is that confirmed?

You get five years to play four years.
This is Sheppard’s 4th year.
2016-17 ECU made American All Rookie Team
2017-18 ECU suspended from team and then left school
2018-19 JUCO
2019-20 URI

After next year he would have to apply for a 6th year. I am only aware of a 6th year being granted for injury & health reasons.

He’s still playing for a mediocre team with a tough slate. I think the competition will make him better for us in the end.

complete game on youtube, berkmar lost 64-54. obviously one of the weaker teams in the GA prep league, but competition is very good every night.

Wood didn't do a lot in this game but did have some nice looking 3's he hit on. He's a very much pass first guard and has tremendous vision - made some tough passes for assists. He also plays with confidence and his not intimidated by the competition. He reminds me a bit of bones hyland from VCU, tall lanky PG but very athletic. He definitely has the ability to succeed as a PG in the A-10.

He's a lot more involved in this game. He hits a couple 3s in the 2nd quarter. By far the best part of his game is his vision. He moves the ball and runs the offense extremely well. I know all this board cares about is if he can shoot, but this kid is going to help us in a variety of ways.

His team was ranked preseason #5 in the highest 7A classification. Several incoming transfers and talented players who need to mesh. They have started off slower than expected but plenty of time to go including Region Play. He is playing against high level competition.

Yeah, I’m familiar with most of the kids from Berkmar. I think they are a bit overrated, but I still love the move for Elijah because his previous high school team was a dumpster fire.

First set of scores were the girls results, a bit further down for the boys. Ironically it was almost the inverse score - both sets of teams destroyed each other.

I'm in Texas now, and huge gaps in team quality in District play aren't uncommon. Usually you see more lopsided scores like that in girls' basketball, but it happens in boys' hoops too.
