Anybody know how they should do this year? Seems like their recruiting is picking up based off the article they posted about the freshmen.

Their season starts Friday, August 25th, so the A10 coach's poll should come out that week

No Uconn on the schedule this season, that's too bad. They should add Umass Lowell to the schedule, they are preason top 25 in the country.

Took in the 3-0 win over BU last night. Pretty good crowd with football and basketball (and thorr) in attendance. Some good crisp passing in the midfield along with some aggressive play on defense. So far, so good!

I just wanted to say what a great job that the URI Men's soccer team did today in Narragansett with the Narragansett Youth Soccer. The head coach a good Irish men and all of the coaches and players taught the kids and they were into and made my University very proud. Best of luck this season and we will see you next Saturday at home against the hated PC team

They won again last night 3-2 over St. Bonaventure. URI soccer has won or tied their last 7 matches. 6-2-2 record...not too bad at all! Still a long way to go for NCAA tournament consideration.

For sure.....
URI now ranked #44 in RPI
Remaining:
@ Davidson Saturday Oct 14 at 6pm
@ UMASS Wednesday Oct 18 at 3pm - UMASS is #33 RPI with a 8-2-2 record
Fordham Saturday Oct 21 at 7pm (Homecoming Family Day Weekend)
@ VCU Saturday Oct 28 at 7pm - VCU is #18 RPI with a 5-3 record
Duquesne Wednesday Nov 1 at 7pm
Amazing how we lost to PC 2-1 in 2 overtimes at home - at the time PC was ranked nationally #24 and PC has now fallen to a record of 2-7-2

Soccer keeps its unbeaten streak going with a 2-2 2OT draw at Davidson. They have gone their last ten games without a loss and their record is now 8-2-3. Only four conference games remain in the regular season. Rhody is currently tied for first place in the league with UMass at 3-0-1 with the next game in Amherst.

URI 's once very promising season has gone south with three straight conference losses - @UMass, Fordham, and @VCU. Offense has stalled with only two goals in last three games. Record now stands at 8-5-3 and 3-3-1 in A-10 play. Finish regular season at home this Wednesday vs Duquesne. They may need a win to qualify for one of the eight spots in the A-10 Tournament.
FWIW- I did not realize that all but one league school fields a men's soccer team. the only school without a team is Richmond. Found that odd as I would have thought soccer would be popular with the wealthy suburban white demographics of the school.

URI stops its three game losing skid and beats Duquesne at home 2-1. Clinches the 6th seed in the A-10 Tournament with conference record of 4-3-1 and overall record at 9-5-3. Will play at No. 3 seed George Washington in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship. The match will be played Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.

How many teams make the NCAA tournament? Does Rhody need to win the A 110 to get in?

48 teams. Approximately 24 auto bids for conference tournament champs. If they made the final, one would think their RPI would move up and they might be on the cusp for an at large. If they get beat by VCU, the season is very likely done.

Right, 48 teams. The Top 16 seeded teams receive 1st round byes.
Last Year Fordham won the A10 Championship - only A10 team to go to NCAAs
Most likely A10 gets only 1 team - and URI would have to win out I would think.

Last time the A-10 got an at-large team in was 2014 (Fordham was the AQ, St. Louis received an at-large).

I would think the A-10 however did not have four teams in the top 35 RPI in most recent seasons.

I can’t see how URI would make it other than winning the A-10 Crown. Buts it would be interesting to see if a team like VCU didnt make it even if they lost in the finals to say Umass.

URI was not far from getting an at large bid as the A-10 was strong this past season. The league placed three teams in the tournament this year - UMass as the tourney champ/auto bid and VCU and Fordham as at larges. One win over one of those three teams might have been the difference.
