This guy seems to do a lot of things well....good post moves, nice outside shot, puts it on the floor and drives, very good vision and passer, blocks a few shots. I like what I see.

Happen to catch him play a couple of times this year, I was very impressed. Brother Enes plays for OKC and had signed with KY but never played for them

Why s this guy not even playing 20 mins a game at a low major? bit of a red flag for me but i'd take him as him as a much needed big guy.

Assuming Juiston s not coming, landing this guy or another good PF/C grad transfer + the Longwood guy would be ideal. Like nabbing a couple vet free agents on one year deals//

He may have knee problems.
Otherwise... 6'10 brother of an NBA player sounds very nice.

Is it just me or does he not even look close to 6'10" in that video?

He looks good in the clip, but a 1 year grad transfer would leave 5 ships to fill next year. That's a large percentage of the roster to turnover in one year...if you are not KY and that's your model.

Wouldn't that make 6 ships to fill next year? Currently, we have the following scholarship guys who are going to be seniors:

EC Matthews
Jared Terrell
Jarvis Garrett
Stanford Robinson
Andre Berry

Unless I'm missing something, bringing in a Grad Transfer would leave us with 6 open ships to fill next year.

Yep 6.
That's another reason why someone like Thompson leaving would be bad. Replacing 4 guards is hard enough. 5 just makes it worse.
There are always grad transfers every year though.
Ya don't want live off of that per se, but grad transfers are always an option.
It would be best to get Juiston because he would be here a couple years.
If Berry leaves then we can add two guys, so maybe Juiston and Kanter, but then that takes more minutes from Akele and leaves none for Laysaard and Tertsea so who knows how they'd like that.

I was thinking the same thing. He looks more like 6'7 and he doesn't seem to have much ups. That being said I'd still take him in a heartbeat.

Considering all of the other schools interested, I'd say this a long shot. Maybe the best thing for us is if he picks Kansas, giving us a better shot at Juiston.

I don't think any of us wants CT or anyone else to transfer. Nor would we approve of the staff pressuring anyone.

That being said transfer become more common every year and I don't think it's wrong to say the team would be improved by replacing a possibly redundant guard with a much needed big man. We def need at least one more big man but 2 would make me feel much better.

I want Thompson to transfer. He will be a Jr and is going to be 6th guard. He doesn't shoot well. The following year the starting Gs will be Dowtin and Fatts.

You are kidding yourself if you don't think coaches sit down with players and encourage them to transfer if they want playing time.

We need two spots to bring in front court experience for the coming year.

Thompson should stay. Might sound crazy but he could Red shirt to have two years remaining after everyone graduates,

We need to recruit some big time guards from the '18 class. How ready they will be to play as freshmen remains to be seen.

We need to recruit some big time players period...for the 18-19 class. For all positions.

Imagine if we end up needing 6 new players? That kind of turnover will definitely result in a step back, at least short term.

Not passing on this guy

We have only one open slot - we need to make the most of it. Like this. We are coming off an NCAA Year. Strong, deep, veteran guards. Playing time is wide open for a good Big Man on a potential NCAA Qualifier Team.

I hope we don't get beat out by etc from Goodman's tweet. Seriously that tweet is that more than 12 schools have contacted him. I am glad he has narrowed down that list. It seems like the tweet is a follow up to a missing tweet thst he is visiting Xavier.

For me, this would be the one transfer to focus on. We need another solid body in the paint.
Someone who can check Holloway types. He looks to be more than just a space eater, which is a bonus.
This gives our three bigs another year to mature without too much pressure.

Add Kanter and Toppin (who is really a big wing) and we are solid for next year.
(i'd love to see us land Enoch as a transfer too, but that is probably getting greedy)

Should we be massively disapppinted if we can't/don't land one true impact big who can contribute in 2017?

I personally think so.

Disagree. If the season plays out and we don't dance because of it? Sure.

People forget we brought in 3 highly touted bigs last year. Considering the one that we did see was a key in getting us to the tournament and winning, I'm going to trust our coaches' instincts on how much they played and what they'll turn into next season.

If I had one wish, it would be that after this season we stop with the hot and cold snap judgements and total decrees of situations before they've unfolded. Just like one bad loss isn't an indictment of the whole season, 1 "missed" scholly doesn't screw your whole recruitment.

The staff has shown they know how to properly develop players and bring them along. Jared, EC, and Hass started out of the box. Jarvis waited about 10 games until it was his time. Dowtin waiting. Langevine waited. Iverson was ready right away.

Personally, I'm high on Toppin. Go get another freshman who can stay with you and grow in your system, trust who you already have on your bench.

We can say trust the process now because Hurley's process brought us legitimate success and has us set up for more.

In a related move, Brady Ernst, a 6-10 forward who is graduating from Indian Hills CC, has just de-comitted from Xavier.

And ironically, who started at Iowa State.

Ernst, who is from Clinton, Iowa, tore his ACL during his senior year of high school.

He went to Iowa State and played in 6 early season games his freshman year before they shut him down because of the injured knee.

He transferred to Indian Hills CC to start over. He was rated #70 on the recent Juco player rankings where Shakur Juiston was rated #1. Ernst has 3 years of eligibility left.

He says he's open to "all options"
