So what Hurley means is, if you do NOT consider Duke, then LaSalle is "probably the best offensive team we've played in terms of the talent up and down the roster."
So he definitely excludes Duke, he also uses the word "probably" meaning some might argue that a Cincinnati or Houston might be better and he also says in terms of the entire roster - so he is referring to bench guys who can also "fill it up"

Honestly this game scares me. Powell and Johnson are unknowns to us since they transferred from Syracuse and from Memphis. Powell played with Iverson at Memphis. This two guys are excellent shooters. Price can get red hot for LaSalle and he can get ice cold. But this team scores up towards 90 ppg and they can shoot. I am afraid if any team starts off hot against us and we get behind that we may not have the patience or temperament to get back into the game. I have seen us go from a good passing, unselfish team to a one-on-one team within the same game. And it is not just one player but several who tend to do this. In fact if one guy starts to dribble a lot and not pass it seems they all go that way.

I really don't think we are 12 points better than LaSalle at this time. But we shall soon see.

Remember when Garrett absolutely torched LaSalle on the road last year? Where the hell is that player.

Hopefully, the PA announcer will acknowledge la salle assistant coach Horace "pappy" Owens former ram great and one of my top ten all time (56 years)

Hoping for a breakout game for Jarvis. This is a perfect game for him to get going. Knock down some threes get some layups, run the offense. La Salle ain't got no D. Time for Jarvis to get his confidence back.
Would like to see if Kuran continues to play well like he has for the last few weeks.
I wonder if we will run with them as much as they want to run and I wonder how our D will do if we do run with them.

I would like to see Hurley send a message and start Stan ahead of Jarvis. I am ok with whatever playing time they both get - ok with Jarvis getting more time. I think it would be helpful for the starters to feel some competition for their minutes.

Couldn't agree more. If the Marc Upshaw game was the only game he ever played for us, he'd still be in my top 10. And he was always a class act.

I wish he would shake it up. Many of the top coaches who we all know coach adversity into their teams.

I would like to see Hurley manufacture that adversity against crap opponents by making guys compete against the other team and the guys on their own team. Against his expectations. Then maybe the pressure of a pick-em game wouldn't destroy us every time.

I am also scared of Lasalle. Have been for 4 years. Surprises me every time we breeze by them.

Awful start. Boy, this team commit so many terrible turnovers, trying to force the ball somewhere, trying to dribble between multiple defenders and just plain bad hands by just about everyone on team.

Pretty uninspired basketball so far. Awful defense, sloppy offense. More turnovers than a French bakery

This LaSalle team is terrible so if we can get our heads out of our asses there is plenty of time. Unfortunately we look even more terrible and are on pace to score about 40 points against one of the worst defensive teams in the country.

Hurley really has this team ready for A10 play.

This is our version of Dayton last night, and maybe even worse. This is the worst thing I've ever seen.

No one looks even decent (being kind).
Dan looks like he's saving his timeouts for the next Dayton game.
All starting guards should be benched.

There is not a person alive who would defend what is going on right now. There are literally not words to express how bad this is. Every time I keep thinking "OK, that was weird, but things will get back to normal now" something even worse and more pathetic happens. Games like this happen in a season, it's inevitable. The problem is when you missed your opportunities at good wins earlier in the season you can't afford games like this anymore.

Dowtin is getting fun to watch. The rest of the team is killin' me.

This horrific effort is 100% on Dan Hurley, yes our players suck big time, but the effort and game plan for this game is all on Hurley. There is nobody on the LaSalle team who can guard Hassan and we haven't even attempted to get the ball inside, its a complete joke, it makes no sense whatsoever. No need to even comment on the defense because some on this board seem to think we are an elite defensive team, the fact is we suck on defense in every aspect, we overplay on every possession and time after time get beat off the dribble, its a joke that we get credit as being a good defensive team.

The only good thing about this travesty is that we can finally get past all the ridiculous "what do we need to finish in the A10 to get an at large". It has to be obvious by this time we need to win the A10 tourney.

That's right, and that's what I was saying last night watching the Dayton game. But the timing of this is not good. It further narrows the margin for error in terms of getting to a final win total/RPI that would get you into the tournament (now looking at having to finish at worst 11-3 and likely better). And as you mentioned, from a resume perspective you don't have much to balance out getting blown out of your home gym by a bad team.

Bingo. Great post. All excellent and accurate points.

But in fairness, LaSalle only lost to Dayton by 11, Hassan and EC are not 100%, students are not back so crowd wasn't as good as it could have been, got a big game vs UMass on Sunday and kids must be looking ahead, Jarvis must have off the court issues, refs sucks, unseasonably warm out.

the bright side is this can be one hell of a comeback in the second half!

I'm not gonna overrate us but that's not the team that beat st joes by 30 or the one that beat Marist by 50 or won at Mohegan against a still top 25 cincy team. Something's wrong here.
