That should be the case, but I think Stein has asked for a recount on the ODU game...stay tuned....

.......I would offer this game will slow the bleeding from many veins......provide a little stability in righting of the ship of the recent stormy waters......and all that......any solid indicators that the team will emerge from this game other being in continual drift......no.

They had a nice easy win today

DH should read this team the riot act and get them ready to roll by next Sunday

......is it almost Sunday yet??....on another thread, I suggested to see HM and CT sit to further rest their injuries......this gives the bench more playing time to further develop the depth we are supposed to have.....especially Langevine.....I think these two games will give the coaches the opportunity to identify the key players in a shortened bench going into the A-10 conference......I would not gamble keeping HM out for the SLU game, even with they being terrible, from what I hear here.....and an NCAA tourney team in the house.....something we can't .......neva mind.....

I hope we can build up enough of a 2nd half lead in this and the next two games after that to see Layssard a little bit. Hopefully he can contribute a little bit sometime this year. We should be able to handle the next two games at home fairly easily, even without Hass, so let's see some Big Mike.

Holy Cross and W&M both project to be top-200 RPI teams, so while they should be easy enough wins they aren't bad games as far as "cupcakes" go.

Absolutely would love to see Langevine continue to develop and put together a nice little stretch of games while Hass is out. Such a good opportunity.

Layssard I'm sure will see some time - keep on hearing he needs to develop his defensive game, so what better opportunity then sticking him in after building a lead against a team like Holy Cross and see how he does defending it.

These few games are also key for regrouping Iverson, give him some confidence, and I would hope also getting Akele some valuable minutes as well. We're going to need him and his random bursts of 3 pointers down the stretch in conference play.

These next two games are important for NIT seeding.

Can we simply keep the thread about specific games about the games themselves? Statements like this would be more appropriate in the Baron 2.0 thread or any one of the other Doom and Gloom threads that have sprouted.

You could make this statement about any team in the Nation that was not 100% sure of being selected to the NCAA Tournament.

Laysard has played exactly NINE minutes this year,
and gotten into 2 games.
What makes anyone think he's suddenly going to play?

Rumor has it that Layssard is a work in progress hoops iq wise. I'm sure our staff isn't trying to throw a kid out there who isn't ready just yet, but is developing. Patience people

BB IQ is more an instinctive thing....either you have it or you don't......it's hard to teach it........

They can get better at it, but how much?

That's something that should be known by the staff when they were recruiting him......

Strongly disagree. Nobody is born with a high basketball IQ. The guys that tend to have it come from good systems where they are taught to see and think the game a certain way.

That said, guys can may or may not have the aptitude for it, and that is a different thing. But saying a young player needs to get his basketball IQ up is another way of saying he needs some coaching and experience. If they said a player didn't have the aptitude for it, that's another thing and something that probably should be learned during recruiting.

It will be interesting to see what the line will be. Teams that use the Princeton offense can be a real pain in the ass. If you look closely at their record, they play a lot of close, low scoring games. Hopefully we will be prepared. Go Rhody!

I vote no...that would be way too boring..we should encourage humor whenever possible.

I guess the humor escapes me, just seems doomer and gloomer sarcasm aimed to piss people off. Still would be nice to keep Game Day threads and recruiting threads clear of the doomer gloomer thing that predominates today. Just me opinion.

Ok, how about we allow humor but the humor actually has to be funny? The NIT comment wasn't, it was dumb.

I think it was funny. Sorry...oh wait, no I'm not.....I still think it was funny.
Not quite as funny as the Little Sisters of the Poor OOC game, but still pretty funny...in a more subtle zinger kind of way.

Sometimes during exam week, these little diversions, some well done some not, offer us winter shut-ins a way through the long week between games; anyone remember "who sits?....."
Back to the game, any projection of attendance??

3,427.

PS - Maybe a good new thread would be, "What's funny and what's not"

Like..."When life hands you a lemon.....tell that lemon to go screw itself"

Wasn't going to go, but just got hooked with 4 seats center court and parking pass...which will come in handy in the rain I think...

...what the heck, go to the game and watch Rhody ball drag HC, then come home and watch the Pats ball drag Denver. That's a great day!

......no, not really......no band? no Ramettes?, skeleton crew cheer leaders?.......small crowd......most likely an win that will not give us anything outstanding to latch onto and ride into the A-10 schedule, by that I mean anything eye opening from the alleged deep bench.....for me a meh kinda game on a football Sunday.......Coaches voice will be loud and clear....

My big hope is we see at least the beginning of EC, Jared and Jarvis all playing well today. Those three being on the same page are the key to the rest of the season.
