When did this happen Rhody15?
I think Akele gets the Start and Minutes, not Berry

Thanks Rhody15. At least it comes in early December. Still time to recover by the majority of A10 Conference Play. Coming after a career high 17 rebounds against PC too. He has been dominating. Get well soon!

Oh good. Ramster wants to start Akele, and non physical forward,
in Martin's place.
Seriously?
So no center? Who's going to get rebounds after Iverson gets his
usual 2 quick fouls?

I did not say that I want to. I said I think that's who Hurley would go with. I honestly have not given any thought as to what I would do.

Why do you have to ridicule things I say to make me sound like an idiot?

Damn

Where are you getting this Haasan information? Hassan was interviewed yesterday and mentioned being excited to get back on track vs ODU.

Seems unlikely. No one else I've spoken with has heard about it. Nothing seemed wrong during PC game and I doubt they went very hard at practice the last two days. Mongo, can you link to the interview?

"Why do you have to ridicule things I say to make me sound like an idiot?"

You sound like tRUMP. If using your own words is bad.......

BTW, is there any corroboration to this story?
Martin was interviewed by Projo, and nothing
was mentioned about an injury.
Guess we'll find out on way or another, if it's so.

Twisting my words is more like it, but I will try to be more clear from now on to avoid misinterpretations. Now you make me out to be an even bigger idiot using the Trump comparison.

Thinking about it my guess is Langevine gets the start FROM Hurley .......I'll not share my own opinion as to who I would start for obvious reasons

If the Hassan news is true, I would imagine Akele getting the starts with a big bump in minutes for Langevine. Berry will probably end up with 6-9 minutes off the bench, if the matchup sees us against a team with a traditional big maybe more. I think the guards crashing the boards is now the key since no one person will fill that void

Hmmm- You would think that we would hear some type of news of this. As someone mentioned yesterday he was interviewed yesterday saying he was looking to get back on track. Koch has been pretty good with up to date news and all has been quiet on his end

He missed the end of last year from a knee injury which was a result of his ankle injury.

Don't know if this current injury is to same or different knee.

Lots of commentary in the real world about
"fake news".
Much of it being put out by Russia, to make
everyone run in circles.
Wonder if Putin is behind this Hassan Martin story?

Find it strange that not one news source has even mention it. Pretty sure if Rhody15 heard about, it's not locked in the vault. This type of news leaks, and blows up on Twitter... I'm not sold its true, hope I'm right.

I've heard something similar. Not his knee but same time frame. I think it's a situation where you don't want whatever it is to hamper him for conference play. Still find it hard to believe that he played hurt at Prov. The question then is: were the guys killed at practice after two disappointing games last week?

This kind of stuff is unique to college sports though. You have players who are on campus and well known, who have friends who are not under team control. You also have a limited media that covers the team and also only really reports what they're directly told on the record and doesn't "scoop" stories by hanging around dining halls on campus. So who knows. Certainly possible it's true, also possible it's completely false, but most likely it is a version of a truth like the end result of information that goes around a room in a game of "telephone."

I do remember him getting hurt at some point in the PC game, I think? Am I the only one remembering this? He came back, but maybe it was something that he played through and was found to be worse later?

He was hurt during the PC now that I recall...part of why he periodically went to the tunnel to ride the bike...

I remember that also. I knew he left the floor but didn't know it was to be on the bike or what the particular reason was.

If it's a bone bruise, those are very painful, but don't last more than a week. May make sense to come off the bench if needed and rest it for Houston. A week recovery is plenty for that injury. The first 3-4 days makes you feel like you have a broken bone.

Like we've seen with EC, the same injury one in person can have a totally different recovery time for another person.

Out up to 4 weeks.

I was thinking last night why I have to read the same think in every PC -URI article - that PC has beaten URI 7 straight times. Ok, ok, enough already. I will go to something 208 said in the past, that these kids now relatively nothing about the history of the schools basketball results. Why keep hammering about 7 straight? We get it. Come up with something else.

But then, this morning, even for the Old Dominion game, here it is again, not once but twice in the 1st 4 paragraphs.

Got it Bill. PC has beaten URI 7 straight times. No kidding.

I know Bill Reynolds yearns for the days when URI and PC played twice per year. No thanks.............

By Bill Koch
Journal Sports Writer

SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Its national ranking is gone. A seventh year has passed without a breakthrough victory against a bitter rival. Back-to-back losses for the first time in the 2016-17 season have raised doubts from certain segments of its fan base.

This is the noise the University of Rhode Island’s players and coaches now deal with, a far cry from the preseason predictions of conference championships and individual honors.

Difficult as it might be to believe, it all sounds the same to the Rams. It must. Being able to ride out the ebbs and flows of several months and more than 30 games is a key component in any successful college basketball program, and Tuesday brings another chance to see just how adept this current group is at practicing that difficult skill.

Old Dominion visits for a 7 p.m. tip at the Ryan Center, a place where URI has won all four of its games this season. The Rams could certainly use the comforts of their own building after dropping three of their last four, including Saturday’s 63-60 crusher against Providence at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. URI saw a seven-point lead slip away in the second half, with the Friars matching their longest winning streak (seven) in a blood feud that dates back to the 1920s

Dickie Simpson and Dave O'Brien mentioned it at
least 7,568 times during the broadcast.
Even though it's true, who wants to keep hearing it,
except PC fans.
Never told us why Hassan was on the bike, though.
Isn't that what sideline reporters are for?

I know if URI had beat PC 7 straight times I would say that probably 8 or so times a day, just randomly toss it into conversation even with people that don't have any idea what I'm talking about. So while I don't like hearing it, it is what it is. It's like when a team runs it up on another team in football: if you don't like it stop them from scoring. If URI doesn't want to hear about how many times in a row PC has beat them, then beat PC. Only legit way to get them to shut up about it.
