I didn't think it up myself. I got some inspiration.

Although I have been thinking that for 40 years.

Flashback to 2003. Returning home from men's final four in Indy. Our flight to Manchester, NH flew through Philadelphia; we were the last plane to land before the airport shut down due to a snowstorm (and it was a crazy landing, with the wings nearly touching the runway from wind shear at the last second. We all applauded when we got to the gate.). Papa Dave was on the flight with his entourage. 99% of us understood the weather; appreciated the lodging arrangements and new flight plans made for us; and moved on. Not Papa Dave, though! Standing at the desk demanding they figure out a way to get him to Providence....tonight! Never liked him or PC, but that certainly solidified my feelings.

We are all upset with Dave because he looked out for his employer rather than URI.

Yes, of course, because being a sports fan is always a rational exercise.

What caused the beginning of this thread? This has been a known fact for many years before he passed away. His handling of the Barnes-Ketvertis incident was ridiculous and Friartown never had an issue with what he did (nothing). Also, let's not forget the great job he did with the Celtics.

sarcasm? because 90-94 were what turned the franchise down hill and let to Pitino. this was when they held on to aging stars for too long and failed to re-stock with young stars.

I was talking about something else in another thread and Blue Man said something like, If you started a thread called Dave Gavitt is an asshole, I could understand that. So I did. And I totally think that anyway, so it made sense.
