Received a phone call from NYC vicinity reliable source that Mroz had torn ACL? Out for year?
Sad-tough kid, strong arm-but injuries and bad teams did him in (if true).
Vazzano-time to step up!! He looks the part.

HK
When you need to know!!

Can some elaborate on the Late hit on Mroz when he was out of bounds with about 3 minutes to go?
Is that where Mroz got injured? That was a vicious hit out of bounds, and the contest was over, so even at 15 yard penalty to UNH meant nothing.
I think the UNH player should be suspended. Conference need to review that, there must me some game film.

Sucks if true. I can tell what I saw - Mroz was scrambling on a bit of a broken play and was giving himself up headed out of bounds on the URI sideline. Someone from UNH unleashed a late, incredibly dirty hit after Mroz was out of bounds. Completely leveled him. I have no idea why he wasn't ejected.

Who had a better look, I think player should be suspended for the next game if what I think happened. This is just gang tactics from UNH, they have hit our QB before Out of bounds.

Hk, has this been confirmed? If so, it would certainly be a blow. Offensive moved the ball yesterday, just couldn't make a big to get their offense off the field. Little mistakes kept mounting.
Who would start next week, would we go back to Mckoy or give Vazzano a shot?

The QB is injured? Might as well get rid of the program.

Most passing yards in a game since 2009 on Saturday. If Mroz is really out, I think you have to go Vazzano at this point. McKoy was pretty brutal in his three starts.

Was it a legal or late hit? I thought UNH player got flagged on the hit. I am getting other info from sources saying it was a legal hit.
Did anyone have a better look?

It was a late hit, flagged 15 yards for a personal foul.

Sitting on the west side I did not get a good view. However, I was sitting right behind where the unh defensive team meets when they are not on the field. The head coach reamed him, saying "this is not the way we play unh football". Good point but a little late.

Thanks for the update. Tough break for the young man. Will be interesting to see if we go to Mckoy or Vazzano. Would seemingly be easier to revert back to Mckoy, but the offense seemed to move well through the air and it seems as though Vazzano could replicate that much better then Mckoy can.

URI's only chance to win a game lies with winning a high scoring game, since their defense couldn't stop me.

If Fleming goes back to McKoy, forget it.

Rhowdy-that would be great if not true!
I cannot find anyone to tell me that??
There is nothing official anywhere?

Says a lot about the state/relevancy of this program when you literally cannot find any updates on the starting quarterbacks injury days after it happened.

Another way of winning is some bad weather to equalize the teams a little. Some rain Saturday would not hurt.

Just heard from another insider-Mroz hurt knee, not sure to what extent.
Source thinks it will be Vazzano at starter. This is why they have 5 QBs. Vazzano certainly looks the part.
The Pats line is still not up on the book re. their QB situation!

It could, but for a different reason. Two years ago when we played Brown it was pouring out and it was literally the worst football game I've seen. Both sides, any level, just God awful

Assuming there is an injury. So far there's just Hal's posting. If there isn't really an injury there wouldn't be updates

Rhowdy-give me a dinged up Mroz on Sat. over McKoy in a second.
McKoy is worst QB ever at Rhody and there have been a lot.
Speaks volumes about what Coaching staff feels about Vazzano after still not being ready to play -3 years out of HS (St.Joes.!!).
Over two games URI had 5 td throws from Ehrhardt,Farland,Centore and Cassidy in 84-85 wins against Howard.
They were all several years out of HS. Their pedigrees were no more than todays QBs. Jason Davis was further ahead after 1 year.
Dartmouth beat UNH and has that much more talent than URI? Come on ,man!! Start coaching.

All of that is fine, but you told us it was confirmed that he was done for the year with an ACL injury, but no other outlet has information on an injury, Fleming was talking about Mroz gaining a connection with the receivers the rest of the season during his weekly conference call, and now you're backtracking from your original story. What's going on?

Rhowdy -Fleming has proven me wrong many a time-am not the only one!
Tell you what I will do-Rhody wins on Sat. with somebody other than McKoy at QB ,i will make a donation to baseball program.
Raffle ticket or something else.

Thanks for the updates everyone. Would be curious to see Vazzano give it a shot. Looking forward to the game.
