The Giants...in the running...up until the very last game of the season....it's already so 2020.
Eagles win tonight, might be one of the best sports trifecta days I can remember in a while.

Eagles were to get the 9th pick, now they get the 6th
Makes no sense that there are benefits to losing a game. No way Peterson should have pulled the starting QB

I agree that Peterson should be fired.

He is meeting with Lurie tomorrow.

He undermined the integrity of the game. If there were no playoff implications, then who cares what he did. But there was.

Wouldn't matter who the team was that got screwed.

Agreed, between that and the change to the Tompa Bay Bucs telecast instead...Now, I think I might hate football.
Doubtful I'll watch any playoffs unless there is absolutely nothing else on.... Actually, I have enuff crap dvr'd to even get me through that...

This doesn't even need commentary, what it needs is a laugh track...

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/306 ... leman-2021

New York Giants keep Dave Gettleman, as GM and co-owner John Mara both say team is 'on the right track'

The Giants have a 15-33 record with Gettleman as the GM, losing at least 10 games each season. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets have compiled worse records during that span.

"Now, we're far from a finished product. There are a lot more pieces that we need here. But I think we are in much better shape now than before." (Before what?!)

So...when the ESPN crawler says:

"Garret expected back as Giants OC"

followed by the next line that replaces it:
"Giants finished 31st in offense last year"

...is that like, ESPN (not so secretly) laughing at the Giants? I mean, if it is, I'm actually fine with that...

ETA: I just checked with my brother (a Cowboys fan) who tells me: "Offense is his strength"

Garrett's play calling cost the Cowboys a playoff spot last year.

But it's hard to be critical of him this year, the team just didn't have enough weapons along with that leaky O line.

Gettleman is on the hot seat next season, so I've heard. His personnel decisions so far have been spotty at best, as we know.

Welp, I'm not into offseason football news at all, but stuck inside with a puppy on a rainy day and reading this article, makes me optimistic about the Gmen... 'bone? I'm going to pick them to win the division. Because they're so good now? No, because they might actually be a little better than last year, and the division is so mediocre...

It never ends, does it?

Jones starts to show some serious upside, and then gets hurt, along with just about every other key player.

Gettleman HAS TO GO. PLEASE. NOW would be good.

Since they will again have a high 1st round pick, get someone who can draft an offensive line along with some guys who can rush the passer and defend against the pass.

Hope is essential. Right now, there is none.

I would give Judge another year.

But, if they continue to beat themselves, as they did against Washington and Atlanta, then see ya.

He has preached disciplined football, but that hasn't happened yet, and all the injuries aren't helping.

reef, their offense, once they get everybody healthy, could be very potent.

Even with a suspect O line.

The defense however has a long way to go. Can't stop anything.

As bad as they are right now, there is potential...but Gettleman still has to go.

The Giants are an absolute disgrace.

Forget what I said about Jones and the offense.

Well they ARE offensive! The defense is the worst in the league, even worse than the Jets.

The Maras deserve better than this.

Blow the entire fucking thing up and clean house.

Judge, Garrett, Gettleman, all of them.

How many years do you have to have the top picks in the draft, and keep getting WORSE?

I'll add, looks like the Chiefs and Mahomes are yesterday's news lol.

The Ravens, Bills, Rams are the NFL's best right now. Sorry Tom, not this year.

Yeah, you're still really good, but that lucky horseshoe has to come out of your ass sometime soon.

The Giants are pathetic, a complete mess and I am tired of all the excuses.
Gettleman needs to go.
Over the last 5 years they have the 3rd worst record in the entire NFL 23-57 (only better than the Jets and Jaguars), although Gettleman has only been there the last 4.

I watched the Michael Kay show on YES this afternoon.

They didn't pull any punches. They totally trashed the entire operation from Mara to the players.

Said the entire management team needs to go....and stop hiring people [like Garrett and Gettleman] from within..it's gotten them nowhere for the last 10 years.

After listening to them, I agree. CUT BAIT

Hey, maybe if they can get everybody healthy, they might be decent....this season is lost though.

However Gettleman still has to go.

At least there might be some hope down the road...compared to the Jets....omg are they bad.

Maybe the Jets can schedule UConn.....

Having the Mannings do MNF...one of the best things ever. The highlights make me regret not having been on board from the get go. TB 12 telling them that he much preferred his games against Peyton and Eli sporting that smile saying he enjoyed them all...or when Peyton asked Marshon Lynch, "down near the goal line, are you pound it in on the ground, or you a quick screen kinda guy". Great stuff.

The Chefs were there for the taking...but my gosh...the NYG play calling.... "Let's take our top draft pick quarterback, who's fresh off the concussion protocol...and call a bunch of QB runs and RPOs!". Even John Stewart and Michael Irvin mentioned it... Brutal. Have not seen anything from this coach (he's the guy that wrote Beavis and Butt-Head, right?) that makes me think he's the answer....

The only excuse for their play calling is the fact that just about every skill position player was injured....never seen anything like it....they get hurt, they come back, they get hurt again....it never ends.

They are competitive, just can't seal the deal.....I give Judge another year to either start to win these games, or see ya.

Gettleman is dead man walking......it's tough to win games when the O line is different every game...how do you build chemistry when the guys who line up next to you is a stranger?

In spite of all the injuries and mistakes, the Giants really aren't that far from being pretty good.

They've lost 3 games that they should have won if they hadn't beaten themselves.

They would be 6-3 with most of their tougher games behind them.

Maybe there IS a light at the end of the tunnel after all.
