I went to Moniker last night after work to meet some old colleagues. Beer was very good and the delivery from Bucktown was also great.

I kind of doubt this is officially licensed by either side. Copyright enforcement and IP rights are kind of loosey-goosey with breweries, though.

No chance it’s licensed by either school, but the can is just further evidence that everybody in this states knows this is a rivalry except for Cooley.

Went to Pivotal last night. Space is super nice & quite big. Having a parking lot attached is nice as well. They had 3 beers on tap (IPA, ESB, & fruited wit) & all 3 were solid. Pours were 8 bucks. Cans to go were pricey. 20 bucks for a 4 pack of ESB. That’s pricey. That style shouldn’t more than 16. And it was 22.50 for the IPA. Jeez.

I have heard breweries charge more in house for beer to go so they don’t discourage/threaten sales in local liquor stores.

I LOVE my beers. love it. and also really like support local business and especially our local breweries. TB, Shaidzon, Whalers, Proc, Linesider being my preferred breweries.

but $22.50 for a 4 pack?? they can kick rocks. I know, TB and Proc will frequently go to $18 per and that's tough sometimes.

I don't care the style, a 4 pack to go from anywhere shouldn't be more than $16.

whatever. I'm thirsty now.

I followed their buildout of the mill and yikes, can kind of expect that markup based on how incredibly expensive the building work was with the nonstop setbacks. Hopefully for them it is not TOO big a markup.

Well it looks like a 4th brewery is opening up in Bristol.

Vigilant Brewing is opening in a few months over by Bristol Country Club on Ballou Blvd. It is in an industrial park in the north part of Bristol.

Ha, it kind of makes sense, given the area. Whole lot of old warehouses and factories that can be turned into breweries around those parts.

I never made it down to a game this year. Maybe the first full season of my life that I didn’t attend one game (literally - my dad brought me when I was a baby). But next year I’m going to make it a point and would love to join you guys. We owe Spooky a couple of rounds at least for his game thread contributions.

Supposedly they are going to renovate the old Ann & Hope Mill property in Cumberland & make it into rental housing with commercial development on the ground floor that would include a brewpub.

It surprised me when they left NK - it seemed like a good little spot for them. My wife and I went two or three times, and it was never really that busy there. Maybe they thought moving to Providence would provide more business? But, if you're not drawing with less competition in NK, kind of hard to standout in that Providence, Pawtucket and Warwick beer scene.

Also - I was back in Rhode Island for the holidays, and man, the new Narragansett Brewery was pretty impressive. It wasn't really on our "must visit" list, but we kind of ended up there by default because it was the one bigger place open on a Monday afternoon / night. They go about 10 to 15 beers deep there, and while there's still a bunch of light, barely drinkable or gross efforts (a cherry beer that tasted like cough medicine), there were still some good options. You're mostly going for the space though, and it'll probably be really nice in the summer, when you can walk the park and then grab a beer from the bar, and hang out on the patio.

It is nice in the warmer weather. All the front facing windows can be fully opened and the patio becomes an extension of the space. Can't beat the view on the water. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends.

Boston area peeps, anyone been to Medford Brewing Co yet? I live in Arlington and it's only a few miles away. I plan to check it out soon and will report back once I do, but curious if anyone has yet.

Also, for those that are in the area and like to bike, Aeronaut &The Somerville Bicycle Committe hosts Streetwise - a monthly talk on bike/pedestrian items, from infrastructure to safety and everywhere in between. Zoom or in person. it's typically at 6pm on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. It's a fun hour to get to know folks that bike in and around the city.

The new Level99 which will open a brain challenge based entertainment business in the former JCPenney space at the Providence Place Mall will include a Night Shift Brewery (based out ov Everett-MA). It will include dining and a Night Shift beer hall similar to the setup it has at the Natick Mall.

A couple new breweries coming to Rhode Island...

For those of you in South County, there will be a new brewery in South County Commons, Tower Hill Brewing. Looks like a former brewer at Moniker will be working there.

The second new brewery will be in Cumberland from the owners of Phantom Farms. Looks like they opening a brewery a little off Mendon Road.

should plan this better for next year.... Not sure how long WEEI has been doing a road show but last year and literally right now, The Greg Hill Show is broadcasting at Whalers.

would have been a great skip work day and crush a few pops before 10am.

I like their show, but man what a fall from grace WEEI has had.

Gresh and Fauria good as well.

However, the 2-6 show is the worst sports talk radio show I’ve ever heard.
