For those of us in the Boston area, look out for Arlington Brewing Company. While they don't have a physical location yet to get their beer, they are starting to sell locally and are hosting the Friday night beer garden at the Arlington Reservoir.

Phantom Farms Brewery set to bring creative tastes to RI brew scene
https://www.valleybreeze.com/news/phant ... c5ce2.html

Given Phantom Farms is best known for their Diamond Hill Road apple orchard operation, I am interested in seeing how their apple hard ciders turn out.

did Tilted Barn last night. Place was slammed. They've got things figured out. Almost a "destination feel"

Top tip? Bring a lawn or camp chair tables fill up quick!

Also recently did Apponaug. Also outstanding similar feel.

Looking forward to Phantom!

For those of us in the Boston area, I was introduced to Distraction Brewing Company in Roslindale Square. I'm very happy with the selections and taste. And while they don't serve food, there are options to bring in and plenty of food options around.

Also did a "beer garden" tour with a friend of mine last weekend. Trillium now also has a beer garden on the Common (in addition to their gardens near Fenway and on the Greenway). I liked this one better than the other two. It was a bit more chill. Mighty Squirrel (Waltham) has a beer garden at Faneuil Hall. We also did Cisco in the Seaport area which is quite huge with food truck options inside.

While we didn't do others (or I'd have been falling down passed out lol) Night Shift has several in town - including two along the river.

Additionally, I've been going to Medford Brewing Company a lot recently. Nice chill place with the occasional food truck and they also allow outside food, including some area restaurants will deliver right to your table.

I'll give a review of Arlington Brewing Company once I finally try them. They don't have a location yet and have been mainly doing the Friday night beer gardens at the Arlington Reservoir, but have been unable to attend.

Sadly, Turtle Swamp in JP has ceased operations.

They are going to be in new space in early November. They will also probably be open on Mondays & Tuesdays which is uncommon for providence breweries.

Was around there today. I stalked the place today and, from what I could see, the tanks are actually connected (to something) and they have signage on the outside. I don't think they did a couple months ago...it's happening.

Apponaug Brewpub took on quite a bit flooding. :(

That makes 4 breweries that closed in the last year

Not at all surprising. There are today just too many of them for all to survive. There is a finite audience and demand for local crafted beer which has gotten quite diluted with all the options.

As I understand it Apponaug Brewery was supposed to reopen today but unfortunately the Pawtuxet River flooded again after the brutal storm Tuesday night.

It’s a shame that many of the companies that flooded and most reopened less than a month later got clobbered again. Crazy.

I actually saw workers at Tower Hill yesterday...like, people standing around, pointing at things. It was awesome. Big new letters on the outside, too. They still need to build out the interior...super bowl sundae looks like it might be a stretch. Although, Taffer's crew would get 'er done. There would be yelling and crying, but it would be beautiful (the place) and done in under an hour. Have seen him do this many times on TV..

For those in the Boston area (well, Arlington/Medford/Somerville/Cambridge) I think I've mentioned before, Medford Brewing Co, has a nice little space in a former mechanics garage. Great spot to hang out. Also, Arlington Brewing Co doesn't have a spot to actually purchage beer but have been creating and selling their beer at local stores. Of course, also locally is Lamplighter, Aeronaut and Mighty Squirrel. As someone who bikes a lot and has several friends who commute to work by bicycle, The Somerville Bicycle Committee hosts a monthly series called Streetwise at Aeronaut on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Each month is a different topic/speaker regarding ped/bicycle/auto traffic safety in the area. For those of you that get around on bike, it's well worth your time.

I tried to search for info on it, but could not find it. I however recall being told that there are group bike rides on the East Bay Bike Path that visit Narragansett at India Point Park, The Guild-Warren, and Pivotal Brewing in Bristol on weekends in the warmer months.

East Bay Bike Path is on my list to ride next summer. Also, there's the monthly Providence Bike Jam (Providence's version of Boston Bike Party, which largely ended with Covid).

Update on the new Phantom Farms Brewing on Martin Street in the Berkeley section of Cumberland. Had a private soft opening for friends and family this past weekend. Expected to be open and fully operational by the weekend of St Patrick's Day.

They are moving to the old Revival spot. Should be open over there mid-March.

Was at Appalachian Brewery in Hendersonville NC yesterday, which counts as local for me. Looks like they have a pretty good brewery scene in Asheville and Hendersonville which will definitely require exploration.

I had no idea either. My brother saw it on Instagram while we were walking in.

They are supposed to be opening later this month.
