21. Rhode Island Rams: "R.I.s.e"
We'd need a well-paid designer to maximize the messaging potential here, commissioning a logo and series of marks that make Rhode Island's initials both obvious and seamlessly integrated into the slogan word. The concept, though, is self-explanatory: With star guard E.C. Matthews back from injury, Dan Hurley's program, which finished 17-15 last season, has already ascended to a consensus preseason top-25 spot and might have much more in store. -- Brennan

Nice. The only thing not so nice about it is this sentence:
Oregon was No. 2, Kansas No. 3, Kentucky No. 3 and defending national champions Villanova. No. 5. The Wildcats have appeared somewhere in the top four the last six seasons, including No. 1 in 2014-15 and 2015-16.
"The" Wildcats, huh?

Not sure what you're getting at TP. if it's because the is capitalized it's just because it starts the sentence...

I think he means that Kentucky and Nova were both mentioned in the sentence, so which Wildcats are "The" ?

Of all the top 25 lists I've seen us on, this is the one I'm happiest about. Not even a write-up, but I just love seeing our name attached on random sports blogs as a consensus top 25 pick. Also Rihanna is really hot.

In their ranking Bonaventure and GW are over-ranked IMO, and Lasalle is under ranked. Giannini has worked in transfers well in the past, they definitely have some talent to put on the floor.

Agree BAR but somehow St Bonaventure often peaks st A20 tournament time. GW has some nice talent but not much depth and coaching a mess.
LaSalle could really surprise. Several very talented transfers eligible and a solid Coach
UMASS may be tough depending on how quickly the Freshmen develop

Is it me or is the A-10 projected to be down this year? Besides the top 4-5 teams, teams ceilings don't see to be all that high. Hopefully once the games start we'"" get the annual 2-3 teams that surprise and help prop the league up as a whole.

Interesting list of 15:
Jarvis Garrett - URI
TJ Cline - Richmond
Jaylen Adams - St Bonaventure
Tyler Cavanaugh - George Washington

So 4 of the 15 Under rated players are from the A10 - pretty much saying we are an under rated Conference!

It is truly going to be a very exciting College Basketball Season in these parts!!

You keep saying that, and yet- that's not how polls work,

He had Arizona State in his Top 40 last year. Oh, Dickie V...

What's the fun of facing sports with a level of tedium and drudgery usually reserved for a tax audit?

Also, with us finishing second in the A10 poll, I would think that decreases our chances to get Top 25 ever so slightly, with some coaches / voters voting Dayton in over us because of our conference poll. Now obviously we both could be ranked in the 20's, I just think we would have had a better shot had we been voted to win the A10.

Off the top of my head, If you want to take the average from all the polls that have been out there, URI is ranked around 24, I believe. Basically I haven't seen one with out Rhody. ESPN has us at 20, how could Dickie V who works for ESPN be so different?

We were the only A10 team on that list of 40 teams whihc is bizarre. Dickie V only cares about Blue Bloods.

I think we're going to split with Duke...
We're going to beat them 72-69 at Mohegan, but they're going to beat us 86-82 in OT in the Elite Eight regional finals...

If I were to guess I'd say we have a better chance in AP than Coaches/USA Today. Just an hunch.

Also, the AP poll is what is referenced ( I believe) when teams are talked about on TV / online as being ranked.
