Denver World Champions for 1st time
Nice to see the Bill Russell MVP Award go to another Center!!

When the announced said in the middle of the 4th quarter that "the defensive intensity was off the charts" I was thinking exactly that. Denver's defense was a key to the victory.

With Horford aging, the C’s can use another big, so he helps there. He shoots the 3 at a good rate, so he fits into their offensive style because they rely heavily on the three. He’s a good scorer and has some post up moves, which would help on O. Not sure how much he will help on D - where they took a step back on that side of the court this past season.

I think it’s a good move - if he can stay healthy for the playoffs - but, I don’t think they are done tweaking the roster.

I was listening to Felger and Mazz today. J-Stew indicated that there are rumblings of Brown being on the move. That would be a BIG tweak to the roster.

If the C’s keep the 25th pick, I wouldn’t mind seeing them take the big from Indiana. Although they could use a guard but I am not sure who would be a good grab at guard with the 25th pick.

What are you thinking, Reef ? Any preferences ?

Yeah i liked TJD from Indiana but he didn’t go until 57th !!

I like this Jordan Walsh we drafted @ 38 they said great defender and his offense doesn’t look as bad as been reported

Brad also got us 4 future 2nds which can be useful for us in trades

Sanogo didn’t get drafted

I didn’t expect TJD to go that low. I thought early 2nd at worst. Was thinking he’d be a good backup to Rob Williams eventually.

I’ve watched Jordan Walsh play a few times. He has the tools to be a good defender. I wonder if he will make the roster or will be a two-way?

ETA: I saw that J. Toppin went undrafted then signed with the Knicks to join his bro. I don’t envision him doing much in the NBA though he could have an impact on the defensive end with his length and athleticism.

Yes I would think Walsh would be a 2 way @ worst , there are 3 two ways now with the new CBA

Celts win 1st preseason game over

Peyton Pritchard was game hi scorer off bench with 26 points on 6-11 3P shooting plus 4 assists. This just after recently signing for $30 million over next 4 years

Good road win tonight against the Knicks at the Garden to open the season. Tatum and P’zingis came up big. Celts will need better bench scoring going forward.

Great points drums , bench was non existent and the starters played way too many minutes

Thank God we pulled that game out

Really came out and played tough defense on the game prior to the All Star break

Health has been pretty good so far and if we can keep them healthy decent chance to come out of the East with the bucks Cavs Knicks Philly and Miami trying to keep them out of the finals

I was talking to my son about how he could be so good...and not be that fast (or a lot of other things) and he said, 'he's not that fast, but he can stop really fast'... and when you think about it, he's not fast, but 9 times out of 10, with the ball, he gets the defensive guy behind him or on his back hip, I mean, it's awesome to watch. Plus he can shoot like crazy and that's fun, too. Not sure what time it was in the game last night, but was about 930-935 eastern and I texted my brother that he did an old school Dirk. On the lane...dribble back down, one foot fadeway...perfect Dirk. It was a beautiful thing. He should (maybe he does) do one a game just to pay tribute.

82-38 @ half, 44-22 after 1Q... they musta circled this game, 'cause after winning as many in a row as they have, I mean, you're more likely than not to drop one, right? They just were not losing this one...without Porzingas...they may not lose again...

I don't know who it was, maybe Richard Jefferson, at the end of the Mavs-Clips game said, "in a 7 game series, the team that loses Game 1 has the advantage...because they'll make adjustments...and the other team will just maintain status quo..." Riiiight.....

Celts were 14.5 point fav tonight hosting 8-seed Miami but they lose by 10 with jimmy butler out

Series now 1-1

Tyler Herro has now hit 59 consecutive FTs

NBA record is 97 straight set by Mike Williams back in 1993

53.5% on 3's is one thing, but when you do that on 43 shots... that's something that's tough to beat

Yup. Real bad game in game 2. And, at home no less.

Reef, the C’s better wake the heck up before game 3. They gave up too many open 3’s.

Hopefully, some adversity will get them championship focused because they haven’t proven squat with all the talent they have.
