Tailgate Before Valpo

In keeping with refusing to let injuries keep our spirits down, we have a game tomorrow. A HUGE game that is going to tell us a lot about this team and program and how they will handle this season without their leader on the floor.

We should be properly prepared as a fan base.

I plan to be in the Ellery Pond area (where the 5th quarter club sets up before football games, south of the RC and Meade) by 7:45 tomorrow morning.

You'll know it's me by A) the 12x12 URI tent, B) the URI cornhole set BPR has, and C) the fact that I'm sure few are deranged enough to get up and properly tailgate a college basketball game in November.

I'll break out the grill and make a lot of bacon egg and cheeses, if people want to bring hydration refreshments or other things, that's more than welcome.

I will be there no later than 9am. I'm hopeful to dump my kid off at school earlier than usual (he attends preschool at URI, fortunately!).

Where will everyone be parking? While I assume that parking enforcement in the areas near the athletic complex will be relaxed due to the game, I haven't seen that officially stated. I don't want my car ticketed or worse towed away by that rickety old red tow truck in West Kingston.

Are Football game-day tailgating parking going to be allowed? Can we get Thorr to approve of this??

It's the Keaney Lot for parking and I believe that will still be enforced if you're not on the list. I would plan to park in the Mackal lots and walk over.

I feel as though they won't tow in Keaney because of gameday. That's where people who are usually going to the game park. That's probably the best place to park.

I think it should become a new tradition! Thanks Blueman for the breakfast! As I posted in the Rant thread, I never tailgated before a BB game before. Next time I'll bring some gloves though
