Franco gives URI good PR in his TV Special on NBC

URI alumnus and magician Mat Franco, the winner of last season's America's Got Talent, visited URI in his NBC special which aired Thursday 09-17-15. Franco, wearing a URI Rams tee shirt did tricks on the quad for students (many also in URI gear) and spoke to the national television audience about his association with the school. It was great publicity for URI.

It was a great show. He's a wonderful ambassador for our school.

He did, graduated about 5 years ago

The Johnston-RI native more than just attended URI. He began performing his magic at Freshmen orientation as a student and continued after graduation. He has been a big cheerleader for the school crediting the business program for much of his success. He talks up the school as a proud alumnus all the time. Students at URI (most of which likely saw him firsthand at their own orientation) took to the streets of Kingston to celebrate after he won America's Got Talent.
