considering the fact that kickers get bonus points for lengthy FG makes, should kickers get negative points for FG misses?

i don't mind points against for missing short field goals, i am against points against for missing any field goals. you should not be punished if a kicker misses a 58 yard field goal

Do any of these variables include weather conditions, missed blocking assignments, etc.,?????

Not that I have a horse in the race, but couldn't you make the same argument about QB's in regards to interceptions or fumbles? How was the weather? Was he hit as he threw? Pressure in his face? Poor blind-side strip sack? Did a receiver tip the ball up or have it ripped away?

Most leagues I've ever done are -1 for all misses, and then a tier for FG's, although if I had it my way (for all fantasysports), I would heavily punish kickers especially for short misses to try to make the consistent guys more valuable and maybe worth a little more than a last round pick or free agent pickup. Same reason that I like leagues that penalize defenses for points and yards. A defense shouldn't be able to only put up a lot of points because of TD's. A defense that gives up 10 points and 250 yards should be 100x more valuable than a defense that gives up 27 points and 450 yards. In many league formats though, the top defense may be worth ~10 points (without TD's), while the latter will be around ~2.

I wish I had offered the options differently, its actually 5-4 in favor of pts against for misses, there are three folks who haven't voted yet, so we'll see.

You can have a run-off between the two most popular options.

We really need to get votes on a few different topics.

I agree, anyone with any opinions as to rules/scoring changes is welcome to post a poll. We've got to get moving on those so we can get set to go and focus on strategy. Unless, of course everyone is happy with the rules as they were last season.

I was just going to say, there has to be an option on the league site, right? Otherwise, there wouldn't be any way to prevent everyone from here voting.
