I love the foreign route for our big man targets. Seems much more common amongst teams of our stature to find a diamond in the rough/ high potential type big overseas.

Hearing he may be visiting in the fall.
Could be what the doctor ordered.

Yes, it's what started this thread on him- plans to visit URI, George Washington, and La Salle.

I think one of them will commit this weekend.

Which one of the two is the better prospect?

Whoever is the better shot blocker of the two might be the best fit.

From what I've heard Cyril is better, Tertsea is more of a project at this point but with huge upside (doesn't everyone say that about projects). I'm willing to bet we would take both if they both committed.

Are you hearing this information from inside sources with the program or just people who have seen both individuals play?

I'd be very surprised if they took both.

I'd prefer Langevine. To be fair, though, I know way more about him than Tertsea. Tertsea is the kind of prospect that can make me nervous. He had a lot of high major teams checking him out early (his size alone will get some attention) but nothing much materialized.

People that have seen both play. Tertsea plays for a pretty good hs team, and Cyril played for the same AAU team as Jagan Mosely. I think even from just a quick google search the consensus seems to be that Langevine is, for whatever reason, highly underrated/under-recruited. There's not much out there about Tertsea

I'd rather not take both, since we still have a legitimate shot at Marfo. Hoping he comes for an official soon.

Does anybody know if we have a real shit at Marfo? I'd take both these guys over a 20% shot at Marfo.

this is why I wouldn't be surprised if we took a commitment from both. Who knows where Marfo wants to go, but he certainly isn't a lock for us, IMO.

No, Marfo is not a lock, but he took an unofficial and liked everything enough to keep URI in his list of 5 when some higher profile schools were cut. If the staff has these guys ranked like the national recruiting guys do, then Marfo is clearly the best of these bigs. It's only September- no need to jump into anything. If they get one of Langevine or Tertsea, that's 2 bigs signed and at least 1-2 spots still open, one of which should go to a guard.

Ace - I agree with you, I would love Marfo but I think we need three bigs in this class and these three would be a good class. Wonder how the coaches handle this situation if both want to commit.

I hope we get a commitment from Langevine after this official visit.

If we do, with Layssard & Langevine's comittments I think we could be patient and wait for Marfo's recruitment to play out. Not only did Marfo take an unofficial visit here during the summer but he attended Midnight Madness last October.

We have at least as good a shot to land Marfo as the other 4 schools on his list.

Ace-- I believe Jeff Dowtin's official visit is on September 24th

A Scout.com article lists Tertsea as 6'11" (which can be interpreted as a legit 6'9"), 7'4" wingspan and a 3.6 GPA.
It says he only played AAU for two seasons. Sounds like a perfect guy for ARD to tutor.
Could be that defensive presence in the paint that every team needs.

interested! love the wingspan to GPA ratio! I have to believe with a 7'4" ws, 3.6 GPA and some basic athleticism ARD should be able to really coach him up good! Hope he lands in Kingston!

Saw Mike last night out and about with all the guys. Probably told him 5 times to come to URI and why its the best place to be. May have been a little under the weather while I did it. On a side note I shouted Andre Berry's name another 7 times and he was pumped to even be recognized. Mike seemed to be having a good time. And he is not 6'11" however definitely has a little height on Hassan.

P.S. Two separate times a FUCK PC chant was started with the team in the middle of it. GOOSEBUMPS

Tertsea gives #URI second big man in as many weekends, joining Louisiana's Mike Layssard. #Rams assistant David Cox scores in his DMV home.

GREAT! This is all some of us wanted. Bigs and more bigs!!!!

Why does this toddler hate Hurley and think that we should just be offering nothing but guards instead of big men?

Zags is pretty reliable, right? He says he's 6'11". I'll optimistically go with that.

it's probably 6'9" but the important thing is he identifies himself as a center and that is/will be his skill set.

I'm going with he's either a troll or, being a little guy himself, he identifies with guards.

Haha yeah, maybe borderline 6'10"? Go with the one in the middle? I just think its funny all the height discrepancies that are out there with players.

Great news, now we need one more big guy in this class? This actually might be good for Marfo and or Cyril since we just landed two potential centers which would allow them to play more of the four and not defend the other teams biggest player.

Funny, I thought Lavigne would have been the one committing
this weekend.
Tertsea = good student and 7'4" wingspan, which is great, regardless
of 6'9" or 6'11".
Now, get the best remaining big and a PG, and this will have been
a memorable recruiting cycle.
Great job by staff, and Dan closing the deal.

I thought the same thing Rod, for sure figured it would be Langevine. I like that he is described as a rim protector and offensive rebounder. Should be a good fit. Not to mention there were other A10 schools we beat out for him.

Not that it means anything, but I said something nice about him being here on Twitter and he liked it and
re-tweeted it.
Day's not over yet.
Five frontcourt openings after 2016-17. Plenty of room for another big.
