Quick, very high scoring PG. He has been putting up consistently high scoring numbers for awhile now. From what I hear, he is a hard worker. Would create a nicely balanced backcourt with Dowtin.

I love how we have visits now from players of this caliber even before some of the key summer events take place and look to have our recruiting finished in November. Amazing.

Nice! We were very successful with visits last year as far as getting commitments go. Let's hope it continues.

He hit 122 of 144 FTs this season for 85%. In his Soph season he was 106 of 125 for 85%
Gets to the line a lot
Averaged 18 ppg playing in the tough DC league and only a JR. Had 23 points against DeMatha
High was 33 points against Good Council hitting 14-15 FTs
Played against Dowtin's ST John's College HS several time so we know him well
I hope his facial expression in that picture of him with Hurley and Cox isn't any indication of how the visit went...

The fact he's wearing an Orioles shirt automatically makes him my favorite player ever.

I was kidding, I know the facial expression means nothing. Just found it funny how Hurley and Cox are smiling and Moultrie looks like he's about to start crying.

Had a conversation with his Coach while on the road this weekend during the live period. When I asked about schools, URI was the first one he listed, among other A-10 schools like St. Joes. He said he is a 3 workout a day kid... High School work out in the morning, pick up with college guys at the rec center in the afternoon, and then he spends the evening on the shooting machine or at AAU practice.
reckless jake wrote:Per Corey Evans at HoopSeen, Jamir Moultrie's final seven schools are:
LaSalle
Monmouth
Rhode Island
Georgia
Butler
Murray State
Arkansas State
He is in process of setting up visits
He had Georgia on his final list before they offered. Now that they have offered, they are the favorite to land Jamir.

I had heard we backed off a PG recruit to focus on Fatts...I am guessing this is the kid.

Yeah, and there was some overlap on their initial final lists of schools. Nothing against Moultrie at all, but, from a recruiting perspective, the current roster is well represented with DC/Maryland guys and I like the idea of having a Philly guy again.

For those who've followed his recruitment, Moultrie has a final 3 of Georgia, Monmouth, and La Salle.

Appears he was going to visit Georgetown and they might have been the leader before Georgetown landed a top 40 point guard to fill that position. It still amazes me how many kids want the bigger program even if that means less opportunity and a spot down at the end of the bench. He might actually of just got lucky GT filled that spot already.
Committed to LaSalle. They are going to be a scary good team then ext few years in this league.

I believe this is the kid we cooled off on once we zeroed in on Fatts. And from what I have read on Fatts I am very ok with that.
Will be interesting to track their development, head-to-head, over the next few years. Go Rhody!

LaSalle has now completed their recruiting for 2017
Interesting that LaSalle offered Jamir as a Soph. He narrowed to LaSalle, Monmouth, Georgetown and Georgia.
Good to see LaSalle recruiting well and getting some very good High Major Transfers in. St Louis also recruiting very well.
The reputation of the Atlantic 10 seems to be taking some nice steps forward. UMASS also with some strong recruiting results.
The 6-foot-tall, 170-pound lead guard became the second member of La Salle’s incoming 2017 recruiting class, joining Mater Dei (Cali.) big man Miles Brookins with a verbal commitment last week.
“He’s a true combo guard,” McNamara head coach Marty Keithline told CoBL. “Can play the point guard if you need him to, can be a scoring guard if you need him to. Tough kid, unbelievable work ethic.”
La Salle added a third member to its 2017 recruiting class on Monday night, with Combine Academy (N.C.) wing Dajour Joseph joining Moultrie and Brookins. Barring transfer, that’s the final available scholarship for the Explorers next fall.
