OK guys, time to put those deflated balls behind us for now [ouch] and concentrate on Sunday's game.

Who wins, and by what score?

My take on the game?

Seattle 19, Pats 13.

Gronk gets a TD, Lynch for Seattle. Turnovers even, 2 each. 4 FG's for Seattle trumps 2 for the Pats.

Brady gets the ball down 6 with a minute to go, and can't do anything with it.

So there you have it, sports fans. Straight from a Giants' fan. But a serious prediction anyway.

The good thing for the Pats is that I'm always wrong. Don't want to be right now.

I am heading to Florida for a short vacation.......will be in the Naples area and will head to a New England themed sports bar to watch the game....and in my superstitious mind this will cost the Patriots the game since I will not be able to watch the game on my television with all my in-game rituals which help the Patriots win.....therefore they lose the game...

I want Marshawn Lynch to win. Not necessarily the Seahawks, just Marshawn.

I can't remember a SB that has been so difficult to predict. Anything can happen.
For the Pats to win, they have to somehow slow down Lynch. They also have to contain the qb. They aren't good at that.

The line has moved back down to a pick 'em in many places due to an accumulation of Seahawks bets today.

I hope Seattle winds up as the favorite. More ammunition for the Pats.

Unbelievable that Seattle did not run Lynch for the touchdown. Their two unnecessary timeouts in the last minute because the play clock was expiring may have made them think they needed to pass feeling they did not have enough time to run the ball - who knows why they didn't run Lynch but that was some stupid play calling.

Agree. Without a doubt, THE most stupid play in SB history.
The Sea Thugs had the ball on the one foot line and plenty of time.
Instead of giving it to Lynch, an almost sure thing, they decided
to get cute with a goal line slant.
Then the Thugs showed their frustration by their thuggery attempts
at the end of the game. Gronk really nailed someone.
The look on Richard "The Dick" Sherman's face was priceless.

Was a bad play call, but I'll call it even with the catch that got them down there.

Dude my dad was a season ticket holder before i was born...I sat in the metal bleacher seats in the old Foxboro Stadium and watched 1-15 teams. I feel 0% bad about it.

Between tonight and the USC-Texas National Championship game, Pete Carroll might very well have the worst play calls at both levels of football. That's actually pretty impressive in a sadistic way.

I used to listen to their games when they had Babe Parilli and
Gino Cappeletti. The QB for the Bills, their big rival was Jack Kemp,
who became a VP candidate in 1996.
People also forget that Bill Parcells and Drew Bledsoe lead them to
a Super Bowl against the Packers.
Bledsoe gets a raw deal. He was a terrific and gutsy QB.
They should put a statue of him in front of
the stadium.

Bledsoe was a good, not great QB. He didn't get a raw deal. He lost his job to a beter player. And Belichick was ready to pull the plug before the big hit.

yeah adam, I'd be willing to bet most of the pats fans that are forum members are old school, I don't go back to the beginning but my suffering started before the big 1985 appearance in the SBowl, don't be bitter, be happy for us, our home franchise is the best franchise in the history of the greatest sport!!!

I think Rod just means that Bledsoe doesn't get the appreciation he deserves because the guy that replaced him is the greatest QB of all time.

Bledsoe and Parcells and Kraft saved the franchise. They were very close to moving to St. Louis.

I'm not one of these folks, either. While most kids my age growing up were obsessed with Jerry Rice, my favorite player was Hart Lee Dykes. But I will acknowledge that around these parts, the Patriots have by far the most bandwagon fans of all four Boston sports teams (and it's not close).

I don't know, Smarty. I don't ever recall having met one Bruins fan in my life before 2009. Now every pink hat in New England "bleeds black and gold."

When I was a kid, my dad would take me to training camp at Bryant all the time, and so many of the players from 84 to 92 or so were absolutely great about signing autographs and interacting with fans. Hart Lee Dykes however wouldn't sign for anyone, he was above that.

I still think the RedSox have the market on 'pink hat' fans of our four big sports, although the MLB product is slowly failing, I think they have the most. I probably know dozens of people who didn't know a thing about the sox before Kevin Millar

Maybe, but the Red Sox started with by far the most fans of the four, and the original (blue hat?) baseball fans in Boston are the most knowledgeable baseball fans in the country. It was actually amazing how huge the Sox were pre-2004 considering they hadn't won in 86 years.

I did, however, pick Amendola to be a key if the Pats won.
I don't know about "band wagon fans." Before Kraft and Parcells, the place was far from sold out. That's when the culture for the team really developed.
We went to a lot games and I can still remember how uncomfortable those metal benches were.
I was always a Colts fan growing up. I loved Johnny U and always wanted to play with him. Didn't happen.
When they moved to Indy, I got pissed and turned to the Pats. It wasn't easy being a Pats fan back then. It is now.

The stupidity of the pass play from the 1 reeks of a Vegas scandal. I dont care what Carroll or Bevell say they thought was the correct call based on the the Pats stacking the box. You have a bruising back who was running over the Pats defensive line and a time out remaining. Under no circumstance should an offensive coordinator or head coach think that a pass play is the best option to win the SUPER BOWL, with Lynch in the backfield. Even worse, the poor game mgt by Seattle late in the 4th cost them another precious timeout which would have made running the ball a complete no brainer.

The impact on Vegas based on that 1 play is very suspicious, glad I didnt have a wager on this one.

Bruins and Sox surely have a massive amount of bandwagoners. However, they both have a very, very deep base of die hard fans, too. They were each one of the first franchises in their respective leagues. Meanwhile, when my dad was a kid he was a Giants fan because there were no New England Patriots. For that reason, I don't think the fandom runs as deep.
