AWESOME POINT, IGGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, some more wishful thinking for those who feel snow-trapped!!!!!!!!!

Nik and Andre were better than Ifeanyi.

Kuran even got a hug from the official team grandmother after the game as the players were leaving the court......

I liked in that Rhode Work video that when Pres. Dooley was in the room, Kuran got up from his seat to give Dooley a high five.

Much better use of Twitter, Kuran. I knew you could do it.

This is funny. How was iffy practicing against Malone, nik, and Mike P? Was he in the back court of the opposing team in practice? Is he really a wing player?

I think Kuran Iverson will be fine because he was arguably the best talent in his class and has fallen very far and fast, which to his credit is not all his fault. I'm sure he figures it out. Not because he practices against better competition than those guys.

As a Hartford native, I've gotta say I was really psyched when we got him. Will be interesting to see how good he is on defense; I've haven't heard anything about his D yet.

It is for football at a school that has a higher profile than our basketball team, but it discusses a "run-off" waiver.

The waiver existing for players that are not accepted back. The three factors seem fair. The 3rd being the hump.

I personally think Iverson would be a prime candidate with more sympathy than that D tackle. The football player was toxic in fighting and things like that.

Iverson is just guilty of having an attitude with his coach.

Well, fact is, Iverson's scholarship was revoked.
Sounds pretty much like he was "run off",
which is where URI's appeal lies.
Not in trying to get an additional year, as Bill Koch seems
to think.

Agree completely that Kuran seems like a prime candidate to receive the waiver, but there is no way to make sense out of the NCAA logic. I hope that Kuran can get the waiver, but I'm not confident that he will.

The question is when was it revoked. Pastner said publicly he wanted and expected Iverson to finish the year academically at Memphis. If Iverson's scholarship was available to him through the 2nd semester than they'll be no waiver. Memphis would have had to tell Iverson he couldn't stay for the 2nd semester, contrary to what Pastner said publicly. There really is no incentive for a coach to take a scholarship away mid year when there's no criminal off the court stuff especially when the player is a good student like Iverson. It would take some real animosity towards the player for a coach to do that.

The run-off waiver was originally not to be applicable if the issue was discipline-related, in reference to the part about it being "outside the control of the student athlete." However, that no longer seems to consistently be the case, although these types of waivers are rather rare.

Whatever happened to Kuran's chance at that waiver? I remember Borzello's article when he first enrolled at URI saying he'd have 2.5 years of eligibility left. He also only played 8 games for Memphis before leaving and had concussion issues that kept him out of games that year as well. Any chance he suits up for the Rams again next year?

The waiver was so Iverson could have two years of eligibility instead of 1.5 years. He was actually one of the last people to be granted such waiver. Normally he would have had to sit the whole first half of the 2015-2016 season, as he was a mid-year transfer.
