We're tied at Halftime and Lyle McCombs has rushed for 188 yards in the first half!
Stop some misery Rhody!

McCombs is having an unreal day. Surpassed 3,000 yards in his career this afternoon as well.

And then just 3 yards in the third quarter. Down a touchdown but just got an interception..

Aaaaaannnd Caparell gets sacked, fumbles and it's returned for a touchdown. 28-14 6:56 to go in the 4th. That's probably all she wrote.
Why that guy has been in at QB for so long is beyond my comprehension. He can't complete a simple slant pass just horrid.

Game was closer than the final score indicates, but yikes that was a bad second half.

QB situation confuses me. Cappy isn't the answer. Four of the last five games hasn't even hit 100 yards... What's the story with Kolt Peavy? Is he that bad? What's up with Lowrie? If he is healthy, play him. If he isn't don't. Why did he come in for 1 series early on, then in mop up duty at the end?

Lowrie played for three plays and left. I can't imagine Peavy being worse than cappy!

Hope they bench him so we can have a better chance of winning against Towson for our seniors like Andrew Bose who busts his ass every game and deserves a win.
I also think he has a chance to play in the NFL.

Absolutely, definitely have to wonder about the coaching on this one. Supposedly Lowrie has been hurt and Caparell hasn't done anything to make it seem like he's taken the starter's job, so what the hell were the coaches thinking in regards to the usage on this one? To have Lowrie throw a pass in the 2nd quarter then play the end of the game, is he hurt or not? If he's hurt, why the hell are you dicking around with him like this at the end of a lost season? If he's not hurt, what have they seen from Caparell that makes them believe he should be starting and getting the vast majority of the playing time?

The other thing you have to wonder about is running back usage. Lyle McCombs was absolutely beastly in the first half, but in the second half he ran the ball 11 times for only 14 yards while Harold Cooper didn't get a carry after the first drive of the second quarter and Jordan Sebastian got one carry in the middle of the first quarter. Did the other two running backs get injured? It's one thing to ride the hot hand like they did for a while with McCombs, but when the hot hand goes that cold and you can reasonably question what his conditioning is like due to missing so many games, you have to change things up.

We know there's a talent deficit on this team, but you really have to wonder if the coaching staff has a clue on the offensive side of the ball.

Completely agree on the QB situation - no idea what was going on there. IMO, there are two schools of thought RE: Lowrie. 1. You don't want to play him again this year. He's been hurt and it's not wise to risk further injury in a lost season. 2. He should be starting. He's a freshman and he needs playing time and in-game experience to improve.

I don't know what the right answer is, but it has to be one of those two. Not a kinda-sorta experiment like we saw on Saturday.
