To be fair, Eubanks' problems came well before Elev8. You might remember he was originally a '14 commit at Baylor but was ruled ineligible, which led to his family suing his previous school (American Heritage).

Yeah, there's no other way to report that. The LOI has expired, so the school can't really comment. I wish him well. He congratulated Dowtin on his commitment, which was a nice gesture. There's always the chance of upsetting the wrong people when you let a player go like this, but I see no cause for concern in this case. His ineligibility sparked it, plus he was given plenty of time to pursue other options. The program has also established other area connections.

I just wish they'd refer to him as a URI non-qualifier instead of a de-commit. Do wish him the best, although did not believe he is that kind of player.

I was shocked at the interested schools, and actually more encouraged by what that means about the talent we have since we seemed pretty ok with the situation.

So, is he reclassifying himself as 16' and will those academic issues go away? Was it a URI issue or a NCAA issue?

Could be a fall back option? Good connection to Cox obviously and did average 14 points a game last year and had a couple big games, including one against Duquesne. Not my first option but may fill the front court reserve spot if the transfer rule does not pass.
