URI. Could be a good big teamed with Fuchs. Wait a minute he got buried on the bench here. Never mind.

The staff’s handling of Fou was frustrating to me from where I sit - which is not in the Ryan Ctr.
But, I get that it takes two to tango so I am frustrated with Fou that he didn’t exert more effort and play smarter.

Drums remember he was only a freshman and bigs usually take longer to develop.
I would have liked him to stay and wish Archie gave him a little more run.

I'm sure the college basketball world is eagerly awaiting where Foumena is going. On the edge of their seats.

Too bad - I had high hopes for him
This is the issue w the portal
Would have been fun to watch him mature like Hassan for 4 years

ECR, we agree on many things...Fou is not one of them. Seems like a good enough dude, and I hope he has a great career somewhere, but I'm not seeing that much potential. Then again, I've been way wrong before, so if he comes back to Rhody and stars, we can all be not surprised.

Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
I hear ya - my post was poorly worded
Wasn’t trying to say he’d be like Hassan
But more of a nostalgic post about keeping a player for 4 years and watching him develop and calling him our own vs the rent a player every year BS going on now

The guys who underperformed or struggled here typically end up in a lower conference once they transfer. Good like to Fou, still think he'll be good.

Very random- former URI staffer under Coach Hurley Steve Enright is now the head coach at Keene State after a stint as head coach of D3 Bridgewater in VA. Keene State is considered one of the top Division 3 programs in the country.

Good catch Bos8
He worked for Hurley for 2 years. Early years with Munford and Terrell
Enright is from South Kingstown.

Thanks for posting the above, Ramster. Heck of a story. Job like; though not as extreme.

I'm rooting for Dowtin but he's going to be 27 next week and has never carved out a steady bench role for an NBA team. I think his future is in Europe.

Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
Philly has only Embid under contract for next season so I can see Philly resigning JD and possibly making him the back up point

I like your line of thinking, Reef.
Make it so, Philly!

Agree
Philly is the place for Jeff right now
Well respected by the Head Coach

Jeff's contract already includes next season assuming he is retained .

Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
Correct
The team holds the 16th and 41st picks in the draft. Superstar center Joel Embiid remains under contract and Most Improved Player winner Tyrese Maxey is eligible for a five-year max extension. Paul Reed and Ricky Council IV have non-guaranteed contracts. Jeff Dowtin Jr. has a club option for the 2024-25 season.

Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
It is difficult for me to be objective with JD. He is one of my all-time favorites because of what he accomplished here and how he accomplished what he did here - hard work, dedication and humility - from my perspective.
That said, man, I wish he could play for the Celts. I honestly think he would be a very good and relatively inexpensive backup to Holiday. He could provide good D, some O and stability off the bench.
