At LEAST two more, according to what I've heard.

Always a possibility. Been discussed a little on this board. This thread isn't a good place for that kind of speculation.

we'd have 2 possible grad transfer (Minnis and Reischel)

Don't understand how we already know two guys are def transferring at seasons end. Doesn't make any sense with all the variables that happen throughout a season.

I didn't say they were I said they could be possible grad transfers as in they have been in school 4 years after this year which means they could graduate with 1 year of eligibility remaining

I think they envision Poyser and Cylla as the same player....and Silva and Enoch the same player....and they believe Enoch is a virtual lock for UConn...

Poyser and Cylla, one is a PG and the other a SF. Same player?

While it would be nice to get another PG, I would think our top 2 priorities right now are a wing and a big man.

I think they see Poyser as a wing....even if he sees himself at the point

Poyser's a scorer, skilled combo guard. Cylla is a high energy athletic freak, more of a prototypical SF.

Hmmmm. Should we be rooting for Georgia football right now? lol

I am sure he is at the game. Nice atmosphere to take a recruit.

@AdamZagoria: Chris Silva tells me he will choose from among Seton Hall, South Carolina & Rhody. He's not considering Villanova & K-State.

I've kinda felt like it would be Seton Hall for awhile, based on absolutely nothing but a hunch. Hope I am dead wrong!

He seems like a really smart kid. Narrowed his choice down to a big school - SC, a medium school - Rhody, and a small school- SH. He's going where he feels comfortable. Good for him. Hope it's Rhody but he gets it.

If I remember correctly an uncle from Boston is helping Chris the most as he goes through this crazy process. Here's hoping the uncle wants to see Chris play a lot which should help us quite a bit. If he was from Jersey I would give us very little chance of winning the battle.
Am I right about the Boston connection?

Silva announcement coming Friday

One recruitment of a Rivals150 player that we know will be coming to an end this week is that of athletic power forward Chris Silva.

A 6-foot-8 jumping jack from Roselle (N.J.) Catholic, Silva plays with a high running motor and currently ranks No. 132 in the class of 2015. He will announce his decision Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Over the weekend, Silva was at South Carolina for an official visit, and Frank Martin and his staff have prioritized Silva for quite some time. He has also seen Rhode Island and Seton Hall. Often times, the team with the most recent visit is looked at as the favorite, and the Gamecocks do appear to be in very good shape. However, URI's Danny Hurley certainly has strong ties to New Jersey, and Seton Hall is the local team, so all three appear to have good arguments.

There's no statistical correlation that I know of between the order of a visits and a commitment. All three schools put their best foot forward; only one will get the kid.

For the record, there was no way Enoch was comitting to URI over UConn. Him playing at UConn was the dream of both he and his parents. Especially his Dad.

Interestingly, the Silva decision on Friday coincides with the Brayden Carr Coaches Clinic...

We know that Silva is down to URI, South Carolina, and Seton Hall....

Well, let's see here:

--Obviously, Coach Carr will be at the clinic representing URI
--Frank Martin, Head Coach at South Carolina, is one of the guest speakers at the clinic
--Seton Hall is 30 minutes down the road from FDU where the clinic is being held... one would reasonably expect some of their staff to be there

Will be an interesting dynamic in that gym on Friday afternoon

I wouldn't read too much into that, although I'm not that confident we'll get him either.

I think it's between us and SC. That last visit there might have been the killer.

Exactly, Rod. If we don't do it because we're scared-y cats about the NCAA, then we will lose.

If they enforced that rule everybody would be on probation. Stupid.

By the way, I know this is off topic, but is there going to be a preseason event this year?

Time is running short. I have heard they are working on one, but not at Alpine.

Maybe do a small one, say at the Mews or the Charlestown Rathskeller?

Just for a moment, imagine adding a Chris Silva to the talent already on the roster!
And don't sleep on Leroy Butts either.
Dream bigger, and consider the possibility of adding Jalen Poyser too! Wow.
Maybe 1 thru 13 the deepest and most talented roster I can ever recall at URI.
C'mon Chris Silva, it's going to be exciting to play on those Rhody Ram teams.
I'm all in...

Tomorrow is a big day. In my extremely biased opinion, if I'm picking a coach to develop me as a basketball player and human being over the next four years, and my choices are Hurley, Frank Martin, and Kevin Willard, it's Hurley 10 times out of 10. Martin has always struck me as having a little too much of the Bob Huggins influence in him...not a compliment

If I were a recruit I'd be pretty worried about committing to Seton Hall and Kevin Willard. He's been there four years now and doesn't have a winning conference record in any of those four seasons with only one NIT. Unless I'm missing something, it seems like he should be on the hot seat there.
