ALL THE BIGS

I want Silva and AFLAKpui.

Read in one of the blurbs on Silva that he's originally from Africa? Anybody know anything else about his backstory?

Really like this kid, even moreso than Enoch, he seems more athletic whereas Enoch was a bit more polished. I will take the athleticism and trust DH to bring out the polish. Great company in the schools recruiting him, would be a major get for Rhody if we could land him.

Did you not see me post the flag of Gabon on the previous page? :)

He has a familiar story- been in the US for only a couple of years, very new to basketball in general.

Yes, Ace. We're all well schooled on what the flag of Gabon looks like.
Seriously, it's just wait and see, as all of these visits are.

Gabon's biggest export? Oil. (that is just for you, rod)

Jonathan Nwankwo just committed to Minnesota over SHU, among others, have to think they're even more in need of Silva now.

I know it was almost 20 years ago now that Hurley was a student athlete there but I wonder what he had to say to Silva about Seton Hall

Yes, Ace. Gabon has four times the income as the average African nation,
because of that.

How does Rhode Island stack up with Gabon????

Thankfully, we've got elections coming up to straighten that out…….

I really like our chances when we are recruiting against schools that don't have much in common with us. I just do, the stuff that we have going for us gives us a fighters chance when we make it into any kids last 3-5.

Interesting that Seton Hall would ever to assume to be the leader for any recruit. Hopefully we can land Silva since he would solidify our 2015 class that's for sure.

Some Seton Hall fans do not view things the same as you do.

Last time I checked there were plenty of those types in Johnston, Cranston and Providence.

And you can understand the SHU opinion that losing a kid from their own backyard to URI would hurt.

Ah, BAR, very true….But to have another poster describe us as "nondescript" is oxymoronish, as the best thing one can say about West Orange is that it's close to West New York.

Rutgers head coach Eddie Jordan was present to watch 2015 recruit Chris SIlva. Silva is rated as a 4* recruit according to 247Sports and is also considering Rhode Island, Seton Hall, and South Carolina among others.

Rutgers had offered, but I was told that Jordan was there just for Briscoe and that Shaheen was there for both Silva and Briscoe. We'll see, I guess.

I wouldn't say it means nothing. I wouldn't bet my house based on their CBs, but going our way is better for us than the reverse.

You've probably never been to West Orange. There are massive homes there. And, really, the average home price is probably close to 500k. South Orange is unique. There are some really cool homes. Turn of the century mansions. And a really nice community. The problem is if you go about a mile off the beating path, you are in the war zone of Newark. I wouldn't want to live there but I can see why people do.

It was written with a Seton Hall slant. Obviously this writer
doesn't regard their former point guard enough to consider
URI a real threat to get Silva.

Silva is visiting South Carolina this weekend, let's not make the mistake Seton Hall fans are making and assume his interest in other schools isn't real.

Cylla is a 6-6 athletic wing, not a big man.

Enoch's visit was probably cancelled because they didn't believe his interest was sincere.

Well if Silva commits then either Poyser or Cylla is out. If Poyser commits then either Cylla or Silva is out. We only have two ships to fill and we are on three entirely different positions. Doesn't matter to me, but I would rather have Silva out of the three.
