Transfers out

Other than Sean Colson and Jason Alexander in the 1990's has there ever been a player from URI that has transfered out that has made a significant contribution at an equal or higher level school ?

Did not know that about Josh. I just remember him seeming way over his head as a freshman.

"One of the top freshman in the A10"--not that I recall. He and his fellow freshman guard, Steve Lane, hardly played.

Eli is 100% correct. Oppenheimer was infrequently used.
Lane only a little more.
We had some guy named Silk, so Josh read the handwriting on the wall
and left.

That was Sean Colson.
Tony Tucker left here for Delaware and was a big time scorer
for them.
Ric Blevins was a superb shooter. He got 29 as a freshman against UConn.
For some reason, he and Penders didn't see eye to eye and Blevins went to
Kent State, where he made All league for a couple of years.

"Did you know: Every coach at Kent State during Kent's history of 20-win seasons has won with transfer players. And yes, that includes KSU's first two 20-win teams coached by Jim McDonald. A transfer, Ric Blevins from Rhode Island, was key to Kent's 1988-89, 1989-90 20-win seasons that led to NIT berths both years.

Interestingly, Kent won only 10 games the year before Blevins arrived and only 10 the year after he left. Blevins, by the way, was a teammate at RI with future KSU coach Jim Christian."
