Wonder if Jordan will make the drive down, reintroduce himself to his teammates?

I want EC to have a nice homecoming and a huge game to make him forget the last few seconds of that last one.

Detroit doesn't play defense, so hopefully, everyone will
have games to help forget last night.
Homecoming for TJ, and Preston, too.

He will be hyped as the next Chaz Williams. And I will love every minute of it.

Until he is more like that one short pg that was incredibly athletic from NJ maybe in 07 or 06.

I always thought he had potential and guys had to get up to his level of intensity, nothing came of him.

what was his name?

idk, you lost me.

What I do know is Preston is going to be the doctor of style, Slick, this trip because it's the hotbed of all his recruiting efforts and he finally gets to show them the URI team.

That 5'7" PG, he is fast, intense, fearless, and can shoot the ball. I'll take him, when was the last time Rhody went four star?

It is absolutely imperative that Dan and co. bring one or two more strong signings on board by next spring's recruiting period. For '13-'14 that is.

One of them HAS to be a SG.

Yes we will be better next year even without any more signings, but I really will be disappointed if we don't get anybody else. Watson helps the frontcourt sure, but outside scoring will still be a big problem.

If that happens, any dreams of Dancing might have to be put off for another year, at least.

You don't actually believe that. Right?

As of the last six weeks, it's been two. And one was immediately reserved for it's replacement. Now we are back to one again.

jcru, we need to put on a show for them.

ace, I know, but we'll know pretty soon about Hare. Like Rod said also, they might know by now. Better than we do for sure.

If only one opening, it's gotta be a SG. For 2015-16, there's more openings and more options.

Um, do you guys know that the little PG is a 2015 player?
We're not getting any commitment for anyone this soon
in the 2015 class.
We only have ONE scholarship to give. One went to Earl Watson.

bone, we know.

If he were coming back, don't you think at least one person on this msg board, with an ounce of insider information, the same that told us Hurley would be hired, a few days before it happened, would tell you he was coming back? Don't you think they would make an active effort to quiet the masses, to pave the way for the prodigal son to return in all his glory?

Do you honestly think Hurley himself would avoid the subject like the plague, if Hare were coming back?

Think. You're a bright guy, I mean that. Let it go. Move on.

jcru, I guess you're right, but just speculating...it's what I do.

Rod, I know that also. That fits with Dan's plans as far as I can tell. 2015-16 is going to be the big splash year as far as recruiting goes, or hopefully so.

PG's are at the top of the staff's lists for then. I have heard that. Yes I have.

And you're also right, we most likely aren't getting any commitments any time soon for that class. But, I will say this: If we want these type of guys to play for us, we might need a commitment or two soon, before they blow up all over the place and Ok St swoops in and grabs them at the last minute.

You know what I mean by that I'm sure.

Don't know where this should go, so I stuck it here.
I propose that this song be added to the noise during or before games.
It's got the best beat I've heard in a long time.
I first heard it on Person of Interest, and it's been on True Blood.
Sorry, it's not rap (barf!), but something from an indy rock duo called The Kills.
It's called," The Future Starts Slow", also appropriate.

Why are so many saying that PG is a high priority? Isn't EC our starting PG for the next 3 years(starting next year)?

You can have situations where you have two PGs on the floor, or if EC
was in foul trouble, you need a backup.
Although, Biggie is a sophomore. I think it's a hedge against not coming up with a significant SG
in this recruiting cycle.

Here is the "Rhode Island Preview" from a thorough poster from the Detroit message Board. Not as good as our own Obadiah or Native but pretty good write up.
I had forgotten about the URI theft incident back at the Motor City. Sly Williams with 39 points - he really was an amazing player - and that was against a solid Detroit Team that went 22-6.

Interesting how many posters are really looking forward to this game with URI - one of the best games on their home court this year.

http://detroittitanhoops.com/phpBB3/vie ... f=2&t=1363

This is just the first paragraph of the Rhode Island Preview:
Live Stream: Horizon League Network
The Titans take on Rhode Island for the 5th time in school history (series 2-2) and the first time since 1980, when the Titans won 72-67. The slim rivalry has at least one colorful if unflattering story. On December 29, 1978 as the Rhode Island team members watched Detroit's Motor City Invitational victory over New Hampshire from the stands at Calihan Hall, their uniforms, sneakers, and an undetermined amount of money were stolen from their lockers in Calihan Hall. The Rams nipped the Titans the next night, 69-67 in the championship game, behind 39 points from Sly Williams. (Happy note - the Titans went 22-6 that year in Smokey Gaines' last season).

I remember that, because it was our home uniforms that were stolen.
We played in the blue away uniforms the rest of the way.
Imagine, the school didn't even replace the home uniforms!
Sly got 44 in the return game at the PCC that year.We lost when Irv Chatman bricked a couple of
potential game winning free throws.

Some good quotes in the Projo article.

“We’re going to take the good from the (PC) game and build on it,” Hurley said. “Most importantly, we’re emphasizing that in a tight game, the missed free throws and the missed tip-ins and plays at the rim, they all count. They all hurt you, and that can start in practice.”

“We’re devastated we didn’t win the game because we felt deserving of a victory, but we have a lot of upside. We’ll get the chemistry and get the flow (you need) and I think we’ll get better as the year goes on.”

Also, there's talk about getting Biruta to about 32 minutes a game, which means him doing a better job with not picking up cheap fouls.

what I noticed is Biruta stays with his man then instead of taking the last step and staying upright (arms), he lowers his arm and picks up the foul. If he takes one more step or just stays with his arms vertical, he'll be fine.

They then make the font on all other posts in the thread microscopic.
We get gigantic Bunky, followed by atom-sized conversation.
