I messed up on the state - he's actually playing in VT even though he's from NY.

adam, really.
He's a '16. We've got plenty of room for all types then.
Also, we will need another PG.

We need a PG, not another SG.
No profile since 2013????
We've been on this kid literally for years.

When the thread was first started there was no info on him, really. It'll come, likely tomorrow.

Video from a year and a half ago. Great looking shooter, serious range. He may well be a PG. Most positional listings have him as such.

Nice looking shot.
This is why I prefer game tape, because all we see is
him shooting.
You don't see his handle. You don't see if he can pass.
You don't see if he can play defense.
You don't see if he can run, or move without the ball. If he's a PG,
the rest of his game becomes more important than shooting.

In an earlier post in this thread Kline says we offered on September 17, 2013......and now we offer this week.....I am at a loss.....
....all these early offers are meaningless....show me the 2016's we host on official visits....all else are like college football bowl games....a waste of time..

To be sure, there are "offers," and then there are offers. Seems like the one in 2013 was an "offer," and the more recent was an offer.
And yes, Rod, you are correct about the shortcomings of highlight reels. It's also from 1.5 years ago. However, you can learn something from whatever is available. From that clip it seems to me that he is a very good shooter. That's a plus. I'm sure DH/staff are well informed about the other aspects of his game and not relying solely on youtube as I am.

24/7 sports has him listed as a 3 star point guard...............6-2, 170, class of 2016.
Christion Thompson will probably back up Garret. His high school coach thinks of him as a guard facilitator, who can score when needed.
I would think that Coach knows that many of his recruits can be combo guards.

Dan and family are on vacation this week, so
I wonder who's covering New England on staff?
I'm with Ramulous. Offers are hollow, unless they are followed
in time by a visit. Preferably an official visit, and not a bunch
of guys strolling around, because they happen to be in the
neighborhood or on their way to somewhere.

Have to get away during that dead period if you can (5/21-5/29). June's quiet and then all hell breaks loose in July.
From Ace's article. DH has been very active in recruiting this summer. Selling the program and opportunity here.
“Right now, it’s the whole Atlantic 10 (calling me), basically,” Vital said. “Duquesne texts me like every day, coach (Brian) Nash and coach (Jim) Ferry, I speak to coach (Danny) Hurley and coach (Jim) Carr a lot over at URI. George Mason, I speak to coach (Dave) Paulsen and coach (Aaron) Kelly a lot.”

He'll visit UNLV this weekend, was at Dayton earlier. As of now, it seems like Rhode Island has backed off a bit.

Seems like Dayton would be a smart choice for him. He previously indicated that he wouldn't sign a letter of intent. Wonder if that has changed?

And, it's UNLV. He was chasing offers, which led to some backing off. He got it, let's see how it works out for him.

Many of these kids want the big time......I like the fact that our staff is spending their time on prospects that are realistic in their college options...for example..Wenyen Gabriel whom the friars are chasing....It's gonna take a special kid to turn down Duke and Kentucky to matriculate to smith hill.....the friars are spending a lot of capital on this chase and others.....

There is also the adage you miss 100% of the chances you dont take. I cant hate on PC for chasing Gabriel, they made his final 5 list....its 1 in 100 they land him over those blue bloods, but there is also the other adage so you're saying there's a chance.

I'm not saying don't recruit them....even we were recruiting Gabriel.... I guess it was better to be eliminated early so we could focus on the kids we did get...

Just getting the media attention from being in the finalists for a big prospect makes it worth it or a school like URI or PC makes it totally worth it even if they don't come to the ocean state.
