I don't see this posted anywhere but just found this on ESPN from a week ago
ESPN Insider wrote:Rhode Island (B+)

Dan Hurley knows what he's doing, and this two-man recruiting class, though small, is powerful. Combo guard E.C. Matthews, one of the best players in Michigan, will be a wrecking ball in the revamped Atlantic 10. Matthews specializes in getting to the rim, is an adept finisher and has the requisite toughness to play for one of basketball's first families of coaches. Matthews is a legit four-star prospect and a coup for the Rams. The other member of the class, three-star power forward Hassan Martin, is a lengthy inside player who unfurls around the cup. These are two very good players not just for the Rams but in relation to the incoming talent in the Atlantic 10. -- Dave Telep, Recruiting Nation

I know, I wonder why. He signed his LOI. Guess ESPN just missed it.

Thanks, Twisted3829! I was looking for the follow-up after their BCF write-ups, but then the string just seemed to disappear…….

ESPN's site ranks about 4,387th for web recruiting news, IMO. Any info not related to ACC / Big East / Big 10 / SEC schools is extremely limited (or non-existent).

Rivals and Scout don't have Butler listed for us either. Scout's probably even worse than ESPN at this point as far as info not related to the top programs. Verbal Commits is the only database I've seen with Butler listed as a commit for us.
I've never seen Onyekaba listed as a 2013 recruit for us anywhere, players always seem to be listed in the class they enrolled with even if they were ineligible. ESPN's database has him in our 2012 class.

Butler signed after the 2013 recruiting period was essentially over and everyone (or at least the recruiting services) had moved on. Since neither Rhody nor Butler are really lightning rods for ESPN's attention (they didn't have any info on him IIRC), it isn't shocking that they would miss or ignore him.

Great to see the Rams representing in this for the A-10! :)

I guess Fordham is just going to have to be the underachieving little brother for now.
