I still think those basketball academies/schools are strange, but that's the way it goes. The schedules and work they put in are at an extremely high level, though. At one point, he said he was likely to decide by December.

A year after a reclassification and a school change, Abington (Pa.) Rise Academy small forward Kyle Kuzma has seen his recruitment take off.

Kyle Kuzma certainly has taken off!!!! The young man must have more Frequent Flyer Miles than Chuck Yeager!!!!!!

Either that, or he's looking for a gig with Avis/Hertz or AAA!

"2014 small forward Kyle Kuzma of Rise Academy (PA) - What a difference a year makes for Kuzma, who is now playing very similar to UCLA rising sophomore Kyle Anderson. A wing prospect who can play on and off the ball, Kuzma has gotten much stronger and quicker on the court, and is no longer relying on his outside shot. Kuzma's recruitment has benefited and boosted from low and mid-major attention to high-majors calling on him. Seton Hall, Penn State, Texas A&M, VCU, Rhode Island and Florida State have offered with Florida, UConn and others inquiring. He also has a little Kyle Wiltjer in his game with his elite size and skill set. Kuzma has visited Penn State, Seton Hall, West Virginia and Rhode Island, but believes the Pirates and Nittany Lions are putting in the most work recruiting him. A decision will come sometime in late August or early September."

Another kid blowing up. It's encouraging to see that Hurley and Co. seem to be able to spot these guys (Kuzma, Colson, etc.) before they start taking off. It's only a matter of time before we land one (or more) of 'em.

It worked with Martin. Looking back, getting EC and Hassan committed in September was just so huge.

Class of 2014 prospect Kyle Kuzma of Rise Academy (PA) listed scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Penn State, VCU, Florida State, Rhode Island, and Seton Hall. The 6-foot-8 forward said that he is also hearing from Missouri, West Virginia, Florida, SMU, Villanova, and Marshall. At this point, Kuzma feels that Penn State and Seton Hall are coming at him the hardest, but he does not have any favorites. The rising senior has visited West Virginia, Marshall, Penn State, Rhode Island, Rhode Island, and Villanova. As for when he plans to commit, Kuzma said, “I’m looking to get it [done] by the early signing period.”

Hurley was in Atlantic City yesterday, Las Vegas today. Recruiting period travel schedules are no joke.

Was not impressed when I saw him play. Maybe I caught him on a bad day? Didn't do much, nothing about his game really stuck out to me. Skinny, couldn't shoot the ball, couldn't handle the ball, and didn't do anything around the basket...
