Not impressed with Gordon.
Never once saw him and wished he'd have come to URI.
He does sweat more than any human I've ever seen, though.

Gordon with a better shot- I'll take it.

Gordon is an ok A10 player. That tweet is like a horror movie. 72 pages would not have happened for an ok player.

I don't love Gordon's game but he is more than an OK player. He averaged close to 10ppg in the conference last season and was the biggest reason they beat us in the Barclays. I think the similarity is that JT is also a slashing physical guard, like Gordon. But he is a FR so of course his game will evolve, everyone says he needs to get a better shot and handle so I see the comparison with Gordon.

And defense. I think there's similarities there, too. It might be his perimeter defense as much as anything that gets Terrell into the starting lineup.

Yea JT is strong. Gordon comparison maybe in terms of Gordon's best? He was the 4th leading scorer on the A10's 6th team with his teammate Davis .2 ppg less than him. Plus 2 guys in the 8 ppg range right behind him.

His fearless slashing style in half court or more so in the break is great, but I hope JT brings more to the table by his junior year. I have high hopes

Disano's point was to look at someone based on where JT is right now, not where he projects to be. I would be fine with a 10ppg season out of a FR, who is also a good defender.

In fairness to Chris, he said "game type",
not player clone.

If he has TJ's work ethic in a 4* skill set, we are going to be fine.

Bleacher Report just released a list of their projected Freshman of the Year for each conference....according to them Rhody will go back-to-back in taking that crown. An excerpt below...

Jared Terrell's commitment to Rhode Island may not have totally swung the balance of power in the Atlantic 10, but it certainly made the race more interesting.

By pairing the 6'3", 220-pound Terrell with last year's co-Freshman of the Year E.C. Matthews and perhaps three-star freshman Jarvis Garrett, Rams coach Dan Hurley may have the A-10's most potent two-way backcourt.

While VCU still has the league's top recruiting class, 247 Sports lists the Rams right behind them. Terrell is the only freshman on either team that appears to be a complete lock to crack his team's starting lineup from day one.

Terrell's going to great for URI. College-ready and will be a huge impact freshman. He's very strong and built. He just imposes his will on defenders, even in the lane. Players will be stronger in college, so he'll need to improve his handle to get to the lane rather than rely on his brute strength. He's typically a good finisher, but needs to improve near the hoop with his left hand. Good outside shooter. He's not a great defender yet, but I think he'll eventually become one because of his strength, size, and explosiveness. I've heard some people say he could make the transition from shooting guard to point guard in college...no. He's a 2-guard. Better suited at the 3 than point right now.

Happy "Jared Terrell finally commits to the right school" day. That was a good basketball day. As for Jared, he made both the Dean's List and the all-rookie conference team. That's a pretty good freshman year, and he has everything he needs to get even better.

Deans List and All Freshman A10 team. Not too shabby. It's certainly far more than I accomplished during my freshman year at college. Congrats, JT. Sky is the limit.
