Duke.

Jimmy’s crazy game at Cameron Indoor, Mohegan tourney, the ass whooping we had against them second round.

Even further back, Duke eliminated URI in close games in both 1978 and 1988 that were each decided by just one point. 0-3 versus them all time in the NCAA.
Our 30-point blowout loss against St. Joe's and our two losses against Davidson are why we played Duke in 2018.. We were a 4-6 seed for most of the year. We could have avoided playing a 1-2 seed in the second round, but we lost those games, and the rest is history.

To be clear, the majority refer to at large bids. The A10 has been a 1 bid at large conference for awhile. The A10 is probably the top bid stealer in the NCAA.
Hahahahha oh my god dude.

NOBODY has ever said “1 bid at large conference” on this board. Ever. You’re the first just now.

You’re absolutely moving the goalposts for whatever reason.

One bid league = one team in the tournament. That’s what has been said and posted on this board for a while.

I always thought that was an overreaction, as many here have as well.
Glad I was the first. Hell, the nbe would have had 4 teams in if Creighton, Uconn or Marquette didn't win the tourney.
The A10 used to be better. I think we all know that. But a few people here said that the ONLY chance for a bid is the automatic bid, as in no A10 team would have a shot at an at-large. So it was pretty cool to remind people that the A10 really isn't as bad as people think, and starting 2-0 can shut some of the haters up. I don't think it's a great conference, but I do think it's still better than the 1 bid conferences, and that's what some people were saying we were.

What is Kentucky’s basketball program budget compared to Oakland’s ?

Kentucky (including their NIL Collective) can't be happy with their return on investment.

Expensive coach, expensive players, all the infrastructure one could ask for resulting in a first round NCAAT loss to Oakland ?

Couldn’t dream up a better script for that Power 2 Blue Blood program.

Such a great tournament.

In 1964 we beat UCONN by 1 point at Keaney and lost by 1 point at Storrs. We enede up tied. The AD;s met at Voluntown CT and flipped a coin. URI won the toss and Keaney was split down the middle half URI fans and half UCONN. RI state police were stationed on both sides. Unfortunately UCONN and with Toby KImball prevailed and went on all the way to the finals of the NCAA regionals.

Fast forward to 1966 when the same thing happened and this time UCONN won the toss and their fieldhouse was the one split down the middle with Connecticut state police patrolling the sidelines. This time lead by Steve Chubin URI prevailed. We went on to the NCAA's and lost to Davidson.I was fortunate to be able to attend both games. Several of my fraternity brothers were members of the team, That same year we beat the Jimmy Walker lead PC at PC when they were No. 2 in the country.

Samford got absolutely hosed on this late foul call which was 100% a clean block. Could have cost them the game. Kansas was up 1 with 14.7 seconds left at the time:
