But Ramulous, DC_rams and Rhody83 are both saying the same thing, that CTRhody’s source is completely wrong on his statement that URI coaches knew a week in advance that McLeod was not coming. They both had said URI coaches thought McLeod was coming to URI. I think both were right and both are well informed and great contributors.

My source could be wrong, just letting people know what I was told. I would also assume they were willing to take both players. If Walker is going to have the type of impact most on here believe he will, the staff must of been ready to pull the trigger on both.

I respect and enjoy the info these guys pass along. My favorite reads in all sports are the rumors. Inevitably a lot of times they are rumors.. Remember we were told we were the leads on bishop McLeod and walker.. 0 for 3.. Don't recall any info on Antwan walker.. The only ones who really know are the players the families and the coaches .. But keep those rumor mills churning .. Love following the ups and downs..

Just know some of the information comes from the three people you mentioned. There are reasons that doesn’t pan out sometimes. In McLeod’s case he changed his mind. As far as Bishop and Anthony Walker, being in the lead at one point in time doesn’t mean much. Often schools are in the lead after a campus visit until the recruits visits the next school.

Watching Florida State game. The 7’4” Sr does nothing. The 6’10” Soph Kabengele is a monster. Kabengele is avg 11 ppg in 18 minutes. McLeod will have two Centers ahead of him next year. Projecting #57 ranked Koprivica (7’0”) ahead of McLeod along with Kabengele. He could sit the bench until his Jr year if Kabengele stays 4 years. He made a mistake.

Went to the game. Kabengele is a beast. I would doubt he stays 4 years. All in all they are a very big team, it’s clear Hamilton puts a premium on size.

I believe you saw Kabengele’s best game. He will need to play at least one more year after this. He isn’t a starter and is averaging 18 minutes per game.

Hamilton doesn’t seem to play two bigs at the same time at all (Koumadje 7’4” and Kabengele 6’10”). That doesn’t bode well for McLeod with signee Koprivica (7’0”) rated ahead of him. I could see McLeod transferring after his Fr or Soph year.

If you watch the video, the tallest kid on the other team was about 6’3”.
I am sure McLeod has improved over last year but this game was not one to fairly judge his level of improvement.

For those who get excited over highlight clips of recruits, watch this McLeod game from this psdt week. No video cuts. Straight game action. McLeod has two points at half. He shot 4 airballs and has 4-5 turnovers. 2 rebounds & 1 block.

1) Don’t judge any recruiting prospect by highlight videos. Find a full game or a big chunk of a game unedited.
2) Watching these games you realize how far a recruit has to progress from High School ball to top D1 college to have any impact.

Fyi, #43 going against McLeod is Eric Dixon (a Nova commit). Dixon played with Mekhi Long on DC Premier. Dixon looked like he was rough around the edges. He will need some time to develop at Nova. DC Premier had the Mitchell twins (both committed to Maryland), Isaiah Wong (Miami) along with Dixon and Long. Dixon was the 3rd best player on the team. Long was 5th.

Last one ...

Coaches do not recruit based on either highlight videos nor whole single games. It is mainly about skill, potential and projection.
Sometimes just one wow play can open their eyes to what could be.

Agree with you except on “just one wow play”. I have talked to college coaches, parents and AAU coaches at these games on this subject. None have ever mentioned one big play.

I understood Reef's thought process.....people don't normally wish the best for those who have spurned them or jilted them....it is human nature....

....someone gets a job you think you deserve.....you want the employer to know they made a mistake in hiring the other person....

I'm kinda on the other side when it comes to things like this - I'd like to see these guys have success and know that or coaches are identifying talent that will translate well to the college game - even if it's not for Rhody

Yeah I always kind of find it odd when fans root against a player we missed on. If they end up being bad all it means is that our coaches would have been wrong to.

...a better comparable would be McLeod to Tacko Fall......Tertsea is 9 inches shorter than Fall......McLeod is 2 inches shorter maybe 3

No I wish he wanted to be here.
And of course that he'd end up a helluva player.

A good player at 7'3 in the A-10 would be quite the asset.

I dont worry about it ever, but sorry, it would be awesome to have a big man like that.

Either way with Walker we have what we need to dance next year along with the freshman and possibly Sheppard :)

Center Naheem McLeod no longer on FSU basketball roster

Sept. 19, 2019

A FSU spokesman confirmed that McLeod will not be with the Seminoles this season because he "did not meet the NCAA requirements for enrollment." He did enroll at FSU in August, but did not meet the requirements.
