"What I am most excited about is her competitive fire, leadership, maturity and experience." - Tammi Reiss
This is a common thread with Tammi. I expect there will be at least one more grad transfer in the wings.

Uncalled for. I realize Tom is an old man, but you have to be particularly tone deaf to say something like this in the year 2023. Among other things, we have the assault of women's athletics by men
Anyway, here is a nice article about our newest player:

I've mentioned here the need for an experienced PG. I'm sure that Tammi believes that Dee Dee can handle the pressure.

Yeah, you sure got your wish on this team, 72. She looks like a special talent.

I hope so. My concerns are her size and A/TO ratio. I saw the way SLU and Harvard over-powered Lassiter forcing TOs. Dee Dee's speed and quickness could get her away from double teams. Opponents must respect her offense, but she needs to be a pass-first PG because we have better shooters. Tammi must believe that she can get this from Dee Dee and get URI to the NCAAT.

Poor Penders lol. To his defense, without seeing “Rhodywbb”, I 100% thought that was a dude.

Just a heads up. Anna Dewolfe, a three year All A10 guard from Fordham has entered the Transfer Portal as a Grad Transfer. Have heard that she has already been approached by Illinois, Wisconsin and Villanova.

The pride of Cumberland! (Maine) 18.4 ppg. Yeah, she's good. If Tammi lands her she deserves another raise.

Would love to have her but she has nothing left to prove in the A10. I also believe that she would go to a school that is in a multi-bid conference so she can play in the tournament. We will probably be the preseason favorite, but if that's her goal, it's too much of a risk.

Yes, I agree about her and Rhody probably being the preseason favorite for the A10 title in 23-24.
With that being said maybe a little added pressure and expectations for Tammi to get an NCAAT bid in 2024.

While Notre Dame women’s basketball coach Niele Ivey was scouring the transfer portal this spring looking for size, she found an experienced guard to her liking.
On Monday, the school announced the addition of Fordham guard Anna DeWolfe as a grad transfer to the 2023-24 roster. The 5-foot-8 former Maine Miss Basketball made her college debut against the Irish Nov. 6, 2019, and almost pulled off a triple-double in a narrow 60-55 Irish victory in the Bronx — with 10 points, nine rebounds and nine assists — in the 2019-20 season opener for both teams.
Ayanna Franks
5' 9 | Combo Guard | Windsor, Conn. | Windsor
Averaged 26.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game at Windsor in 2022-23… Added 5.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per game… Has collected over 1,200 career points during her time at Windsor… Named Windsor MVP in back-to-back seasons (2022 & 2023)… Three consecutive years on the All-Central Connecticut Conference Team (2021, 2022, and 2023)… Earned the Windsor Tomahawk Award in 2021… All-State First-Team New Haven Register in 2022 and again in 2023… Was named All-State Connecticut High School Coaches Association (2022, 2023)… Windsor Women's Basketball was Central Connecticut Conference Runner-Up in 2021… The team upset the No. 4 and No. 5 seed as the No. 12 seed last year… In the classroom, was a member of the Honor Roll and National Honor Society… Also a part of the Rho Kappa Social Studies National Honor Society
Tammi Reiss on Ayanna: "So excited to welcome Ayanna to our Rhody Family. She is a big physical combo guard that competes on both sides of the ball. She has that dog mentality! We especially love her because of her defensive and rebounding capabilities. She is an aggressive rim attacker and thrives in transition. My favorite thing about Ayanna is her mentality - she is a relentless blue collar worker that lives in the gym and fits our culture to a Tee. Can't wait to see her in Keaney Blue."
Albina Syla
6' 5 | Center | Finland | Mäkelärinteen Iukio
In high school, averaged 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds… Also competed with the Finland National Team and averaged 8.9 points and 7.4 boards… Named the 2023 Nordic Championship All-Star 5 Player…. Recruited by Associate Head Coach Adeniyi Amadou.
Tammi Reiss on Albina: "We are excited to announce 'the big girl', Albina, has chosen URI as her next destination. Albina embodies every intangible that we look for in a player. Not to state the obvious, but at 6'6 she brings great size and a versatile skill set to our post position. She has a beautiful stroke and touch to her jumper and is a very skilled passer from the post. What we love most about Albina is her extroverted and infectious personality. Can't wait for her to cross the Atlantic Ocean and get to work!"

Following the Davidson game last Saturday Tammi said the team has a week off til the game this Saturday 2pm at St Joseph’s
She said she will be on the recruiting trail this week conducting visits
Tammi said there were lots of recruits at the Davidson game Saturday. She said needs to get some commitments this week.

Well, we will probably have several scholarships available, so hopefully they bring in some talented recruits.

Essential to recruit freshmen guards who can create and facilitate. Can't build a sustainable program by continually starting one and done grad transfers.
It looks like they've written about one of our incoming recruits, Ayanna Franks, in the past. I'm not sure if there is a newer article than this one, which is from Thursday.
Looks like Jarrett is a '25 recruit, most likely at guard or the wing, since she's listed at 5'9". There are some clips on her Twitter account from this year, and she had a longer scout video posted following her sophomore year here:
