Money is on him ending up at Bonaventure. Schmidt has a pipeline into Putnam Science.

Agree Schmidt is likely leading. Kyle Lofton is recruiting Reid hard as is Osun Osunniyi, both of whom played at Putnam Science. PSA HC likes the Bonnie’s.

Gardner Webb is also in the running as they have two Putnam Science players on their roster pulling Reid their way.

Reid is Class of 2019 as of March 27 reporting.

Billyboy he's not coming here. Who are our top 2 recruits for 19 to fill the open spots?

Considering the OOC schedule we're playing this upcoming season we need one more impact player who can contribute regardless of what position he plays. We certainly could use another guard who can shoot it now.

You mean to replace the guard who couldn't shoot?

Forget Thompson then, but the reality is no one on the team could shoot it consistently throughout last season..

Besides Jeff Dowtin, we currently have 3 guards on our roster...

One is a talented freshman who has never played college hoops.
One is a juco transfer who is an unknown/unproven contributor at this point in time. Juco stats seldom transfer one-to-one to division 1 play.
One is an exciting but absolute wild card, who never saw a shot he thought he couldn't make, capable of scoring 30 or capable of scoring 7 on any given night.

So, no, I'm not convinced this backcourt as presently constituted can consistently shoot well enough for us to beat teams like Maryland, Alabama, Utah State and/or LSU. Maybe, on an off night, not even Middle Tennessee State on the road or Western Kentucky at home.

What? Juco stats never transfer one to one? You act like Jeremy Sheppard never played D1 basketball. He was on the all rookie team in the American Athletic conference literally two years ago with Jarron Cumberland and Quinton Rose. Both whom turned out to be pretty legit D1 players. The dude already proved he could play at the D1 level so that argument is completely destroyed about not proving to be a D1 contributor. Forgot we have Jeff dowtin at guard? or what about when Tyrese martin plays the 2? Why dont we just forfeit the games then because the roster does not meet your standards. I hope you eat alot of crow this year because your just way to negative on what this team can do. Totally ridiculous take.

Yeah the Sheppard take IMHO is pretty far off. I’m not saying he’ll jump in put up 15-20pts a night. But to say he’s unproven, no that doesn’t fly with him being on the all rookie team in the AAC. I think we’ll have a solid contributor with him

I don't think anyone would be against another shooter being added to the roster.

Reid committed to Gardner Webb. Huge letdown for Bonaventure and the A10

Verbal commits says its Gardner-Webb
Putnam Science has 2 players on St Bonaventure and 2 players on Garner-Webb and now 3 players on Gardner-Webb

St Bonaventure Board a bit surprised......

Not sure how much anyone has seen him play, but this is not a “huge letdown” for the A10. The league will survive this loss without skipping a beat.

Seems strange to reclassify, only to end up at Gardner Webb.

For all the times fans want to celebrate getting a guy in the A10 who had better “offers” elsewhere, it goes the other way, too. Hence, the letdown comment. No one’s saying Reid is an all-conference type or anything.

Agreed. Why reclassify in the first place.

It's in Boiling Springs, NC which is about an hour's drive due west of the city of Charlotte.
