Thompson potential redshirt year?

Re: Thompson potential redshirt year?
There's a picture on Thompson's Instagram account of him standing next to Jeff Dowtin. On the new roster that's on the Go Rhody website Thompson is listed as 6'4" 190. Dowtin is listed as 6'3" 170. In the picture Dowtin looks as tall if not an inch taller than Thompson and close to the same weight. What gives? Does anyone know what's going on?

Re: Thompson potential redshirt year?
I think what gives is that rosters are rarely accurate with regards to height and sometimes weight. Jeff's always been taller than Christion. I do appreciate that they temporarily scrapped the whole coaches section because it was mostly no longer accurate.
Also, I don't like a URI roster without Hassan.

Re: Thompson potential redshirt year?
I can honestly say there isn't a URI roster I haven't liked in my respectively short years.
Some years you cheer when you play Ohio State close and other years you cheer when a Sweet Sixteen or Final Four birth slips through your fingers.

I know it's already been confirmed, but I was told last night that Thompson is definitely redshirting.

Thx for the updates. As it hasn't been officially confirmed, we'll keep the thread's title as-is.

That should be a blessing in disguise for him and the program

Do you know if this was determined before or after the injury?Rhody15 wrote:I know it's already been confirmed, but I was told last night that Thompson is definitely redshirting.

I was not told that, so I don't want to speculate one way or the other.CT Rhody wrote:Do you know if this was determined before or after the injury?Rhody15 wrote:I know it's already been confirmed, but I was told last night that Thompson is definitely redshirting.

Tough for him to get hurt but a red shirt is the best thing possible

For him and the team. He'll take a key leadership role, possibly even starting and will help bridge the gap for the 18 class.reef wrote:Tough for him to get hurt but a red shirt is the best thing possible
If you say you’re a Rhody fan, I know you are my brother. For you have suffered as I have suffered.

Also, I could think of worse things in life than an extra year of free college.

It is 1000% positive that CT will be RS this year. Blue Man is spot on here with this take. To be able to keep rolling deep guard lineups are HUGE for this program.Blue Man wrote:For him and the team. I wonder if they knew about the Red Shirt this when that Forward from Ossining New York, (Obiadiah?) seemed to want to come here before finally accepting Daytons offer?

I hope Christion's surgeon signed off on his use of the waterslides!

Sounds like redshirt for Christion is as “official” as some seem to think.......

Re: Thompson potential redshirt year?
Dan was quoted as saying he was in the Blue Ribbon preview, not sure why some are still unclear about the intended path forward.
Thompson will redshirt unless there is some unforeseen injury situation impacting a bunch of guards.

It makes too much sense not to have him redshirt.bigappleram wrote:Dan was quoted as saying he was in the Blue Ribbon preview, not sure why some are still unclear about the intended path forward.
