I don't know what's funnier, the fact Mongo actually thinks I want to be right about Hassan missing up to 4 weeks, or the fact he got offended and threatened me cus I used a little cuss word.

So while I don't like hearing it, it is what it is. It's like when a team runs it up on another team in football: if you don't like it stop them from scoring. If URI doesn't want to hear about how many times in a row PC has beat them, then beat PC. Only legit way to get them to shut up about it.

My point was that Bill Koch has brought up the 7 straight losses many times, to the point that I was to my wits end. Then low and behold in today's article about Old Dominion he mentioned it not once, but twice in the same Old Dominion article. It didn't have to be PC, it could have been Dayton, St Joe's, VCU, but honestly these winning streaks mean nothing, they are just filler for writers for articles. These kids could care less about a 7 or 37 game win streak, I could care less too.

I was actually just being a wise ass in response to your wise ass comment. I hope you're wrong about Hass, but if you're right, one of these media outlets should hire you. You certainly had the beat on this one. Good for you!

the funniest thread of the year just got funnier. This is one of those classics. Not funny of course about the injury at all.....Hassan has been an absolute beast this year. His Free throw shooting improvement is beyond belief. His rebounding, shot blocking and scoring the basketball have been amazing. He has positioned himself as a real candidate for A10 Player of the year. Seriously best to make sure he is healthy as possible for the upcoming A10 Conference games. Finishing Top 2 in the A10 is mandatory to insure the prestigious NCAA Bid.

But this thread has had everything in it complete with rumors, insults, toilets, threats, humor, you name it - and all without any criticism of DH

Last year he sprained his left ankle and favored it to the point he hurt his right knee. Hopefully this isn't a recurrence of that knee injury.

This very unfortunate event will probably make Rod's day as he can now blame the team's performance tonight on the coach. Us real fans wonder when the team can catch a break but something like this makes the day of an idiot like Rod the God.

C'mon guys, cheer up. URI was ranked in the pre-season magazines as high as #21!!! That stuff is really important. It helps sell tickets and Dan uses it to get recruits. Joe Lunardi had URI in his mid-July Bracketology so the Rams must be in. I mean after all, everyone gets their panties in a bunch about what Joey Brackets says or doesn't say.

Let the excuse list begin:

1) EC not the EC of old.
2) Depth of bench not as anticipated.
3) The freshmen (who really nobody saw play in high school) are not ready for prime time.
4) Dan hasn't improved the offense.
5) Martin is out for extended amount of time.
6) The refs hate URI...especially at St. Joe's. URI never gets any calls. The A-10 office wants to stick it to Rhody.

Anyone else want to chime in?

Quad injury, not a knee, as reported by Goodman and Rothstein.

Tonight without Hassan is tough but doable. We were already an underdog at Houston. They should be able to beat Holy Cross, William & Mary, and St. Louis without him. So then you get to January 3rd against St. Joe's, hopefully he's back then. Even though we can beat St. Joe's without him you'd like to see him get some time in before the January 6th game at Dayton.

The first 5 excuses are dead on......no. 6 the refs don't hate US but they aren't too enamored with Dan with his tantrums and our fouling becomes more magnified on the road because that's what happens on the road.....

EVERY year of Dan's tenure has had it's share of excuses...some problems self inflicted, others out of his control.....it never, ever, ends.

If there is a tear in the muscle it's going to take at least several weeks to heal...and he won't be 100% for a while after that.....

If it's just a strain or sprain, maybe a couple of weeks.......let's hope

Rambone, seriously, not the tantrums thing again. He has changed his sideline behavior. Do you watch any games. Criticise him as you wish but why not wait until he actually goes ballistic this year first.

yeah he's backed off some this year...but we'll see what happens if things start to fall apart with Hassan's injury.....just sayin'

As they say, pressure can burst pipes or make diamonds.
For the sake of this message board and this team I sure hope its the latter.

In all seriousness, this forces someone to step up. I'm not in the "Berry is the cure-all" crowd, but I am of the opinion that he should be seeing time on the court. I assume this will make it a necessity. He has stepped up in the past when pressed into duty.

That's true,

But it makes it geometrically dumber now that he has changed it :o :o :o

But it allows playing conspiracy theory #163-B the refs take it out on us

Going to be tough to run, rebounds could be hard to come by.......if we shoot well, we can win...but we don't usually shoot well in the half court offense....and they are good defensively......

Only chance imo is if we can pressure them and turn them over...a lot...need easy baskets.....

I thought he played pretty well, too. I'm not a 'Berry to save the team' guy, but...he played pretty decent and it almost looked like he had some 'rust.' I don't know...but maybe more minutes might help him be better. Just not sure where you squeeze those in...maybe 12/18 and 12/22...in front of 'almost nobody' at the Ry?

Meeting in person would probably be a good idea... I've butted heads with a few on this board, including Rod (I had no idea where he sat, so I....asked him) Found that meeting folks in person changes things a lot. I figured after a while, if I was going to be 'doosher', at least it was better to be a 'known' doosh than to be an anonymous one. Have met a couple different people (and have some outstanding invitations) that I've had 'disagreements' with...and it's been totally worthwhile. Go for it and Go Rhody.

Hey Ellie, since you have a hard on for me, after you see a doctor about it lasting more than four hours,
how about we have Mods put up a poll.
Who stays, who goes. The loser doesn't post anymore.
Let the board decide.
The guy who thinks Chrabacz couldn't play in the A-10, and adds nothing to the board other than trolling me, or
the guy who was on the Lamar Odom story ahead of TMZ, told everyone Thorr was staying,
gave recruiting info, broke Dave Cox hire, asked Dan real questions to his face, and a boatload of other things, stays or goes.
Deal?
It's put up or shut up time, coochie coo.

I've been in training rooms. He's not a sprinter like Usain Bolt. With treatment for a basketball player, one can play with a bad quad. Groin is worse is in basketball. Hamstring worse in track.

He should be able to get treatment and get back out there WAYYY less than 6 weeks. Maybe not 100% but if I was a senior and wanted to get the tournament, I wouldn't wait until I was 100%...
