That's a high level high school game right there.
Gotta love what you see from Leggett. Performing at a high level against high level programs (LuHi, Dematha, etc). He's a bucket getter. Also had 3 really good passes in that game.
Ish just looks like a winner. I know we overreact on the board about incoming recruits but this kid can ball. I can't wait!!!
Michigan is going to enjoy having 7'2 Hunter Dickinson...
Legget is legit! He drove to the paint and finished with a bucket with two people collapsing in on him a few times. He's almost like a Fatts/Tyrese hybrid. Haha.

He’s not a McDonald’s All-American. Tons of guys get this type of nomination. This isn’t meant to diminish Leggett, it’s just the process.
Full list from the tweet is here (boys are pages 13-21):
Yes, and we have had several recent recruits being nominated in the same fashion as Ish within the last few years.

Scott Hazeltine was a McDonald's All American who transferred here.

And now is the coach of Mass Rivals. Their loyalty to Baron doesn’t help URI.

With Leggett being (presumably) the best player on the #8 ranked HS team, you’d think his individual ranking would skyrocket, no?

He would skyrocket up the rankings if he was going to Maryland, or Virginia, or maybe even Georgetown.

I don’t follow this scene closely enough to understand what this means. Are you saying that a former URI player and coach with a major AAU program in the area will not steer his kids to old school because he is loyal to his former coach who was later let go by his alma mater?

Correct. Hazeltine's mentor is Vin Pastore who runs Rivals. Vin liked Jim Baron. Baron was the one who took Hazeltine as a transfer from UConn. Pastore doesn't like how URI treated Jim Baron so he doesn't like URI or Thorr. Then Dan hired Pastore's Boston area rival in Bosewell (Expressions) and Cox hired another Boston rival in John Carroll (Team New England).

Did Baron ever get a 4* recruit from Rivals? I think not.

I don't know much about the High School rankings. There are a lot of Prep School recruits whose schools aren't included in these rankings.
I think Ish's ranking will go up based on his Sr year performance. My guess is that gets updated after the season is over.

Correct. Hazelton’s mentor is Vin Pastore who runs Rivals. Vin liked Jim Baron. Baron was the one who took Hazelton as a transfer from UConn. Pastore doesn't like how URI treated Jim Baron so he doesn't like URI or Thorr. Then Dan hired Pastore's Boston area rival in Bosewell (Expressions) and Cox hired another Boston rival in John Carroll (Team New England).
Not sure if Mass Rivals was around when Scott Hazeltine played. If it was, then yes Baron did.
I think some of the guys who run AAU programs think they have more influence than they do.
Pastore told me he was not a fan of Dan Hurley (this was July 2018 - Dan had already left URI).
Then Dan get's the best player on Pastore's team (Akok Akok) 6 months later. Pastore didn't even know who David Cox was.

Believe Ish has a big game against powerhouse Paul VI today? They have some dudes incl a PG (Roach) going to Duke. They took down Bronny James and Sierra Canyon at Hoophall last week.

Ishe just scored 11 straight in less than 40 seconds. 4-5 from 3PT and just hit 3 in a row during his 11 point sequence.

tough loss, but the talent is amazing in these games. Either one of these teams could beat Fordham and probably some other D1 teams.

Yeah was a great game by him really carried the team on his back to get them back after a sluggish 2h start for SJC. Alot of this was against a guard going to Duke as well. His 3 point shot is really the most impressive thing can tell he really worked on it over last year.

Saw the game also. Can't wait to see Ish at the ryan center late this year.

I was really impressed by Paul VI in Hoophall, were well coached and had really good guard play. Great to hear Ish more than held his own, that bodes well for us!!
