Going to depend on what the new GM wants...assuming that Gettleman is fired.

Sounds like Gettleman is going to 'retire'.

... Without doing any research, 'retire' sounds like 'after this season'? To which I would say, that's a nice starting point, could we maybe do sooner?

From what I've read, it's after the season. 'Retiring' after the season also saves face.

The Dolphins have somehow won four in a row. And by "somehow," it helps that they played the Texans, Jets and Panthers in that stretch. But hey, they beat the Ravens too!

This season has been wacko so far....it seems like every so called good team has had bad losses.....the only team that has been consistently good the last 6 weeks has been the Pats.

I placed a decent wager on them to win the SB a few weeks ago, thinking they might be a long shot, but who knows...and now look at them!

Can we imagine Tampa vs. NE in the SB?

My prediction right now is NE vs. GB. Watch out for the Chiefs though.

I've had enough of Tom Brady, thank you.

20-1. They were 35-1 a couple weeks before.

I think they are 10-1 now.

I think we can all agree that the Jaguars are the worst team in the NFL. After today’s hammering by the lowly Bears, I think the Giants are the second worst team right now.

Too funny...I came here to post on the ineptitude of the Gmen as well....

For those bummed by the performance of the hoops team...take a look at the Giants box score from today.. and imagine having to watch it play out over 3 hours...24 yards passing, minus 10 when you factor in the sacks. Wow...that had to have suct to watch...

That is the worst QB play I have ever seen, and that's saying something.

They have quit. Except for Barkley....and they will likely get rid of him anyway.

Compare them to the Jets, who had TB beaten except [of course] for a bad play call today.

At least they have hope. And they have even more injuries than the Giants, and they play like they care.

The Giants, as of right now, have no hope.

They have to clean house. Again.

I don't really have any clue about Judge's "true" coaching ability - I suspect he's kind of average, like most coaches are. For the Giants' struggles, it ultimately comes back to Gettleman. Putting aside questions about his ability, Daniel Jones has been hurt every year he's been in the league. You need a better back-up option than Mike Glennon as a result, at a bare minimum.

Yes, DJ has been hurt, but even when he was playing hurt - and they knew he was playing hurt - they'd still call plays that have him running the ball. It was almost like they didn't like him and were trying to punish him. Thanks, clown show!

If they hire a GM from within...I give up.

That's been their problem...Mara has done that repeatedly.

The new GM should also have the power to pick his own coach....although I could see Judge getting one more year to show something, if not then bye.

Well Gettleman is gone...but it looks like they are going to keep Judge.

Idiotic.

They should let the new GM pick the coach.

If I was a candidate for the GM job, I would insist on having that authority...and if not, then I wouldn't take the job.

If the Maras insist on the new GM keeping Judge for another year, that could limit who wants the job, which of course would be typical of the Giants and make it more likely they will fail,,,AGAIN.

208 and Rambone,

What was the deal on this QB sneak the Giants did?

So strange to see that lineup - like a big triangle

Thankfully, they haven't been on tv, so I haven't had to watch. But, that article is reason 564,789 why Mike Judge would be a better coach than Joe.

Well the Giants have made the decision to hire their next GM from outside the organization.

That's a start.

Also, Mara said that if the new GM wants his own coach, then Judge is gone.

Let's hope so...of course with the Giants, do you trust them to do the right thing?

If I was a free agent, would I want to play for Judge? No way.

I think he'll be fired.

Re: NY Giants

Judge fired, finally.

Heard that Mara really didn't have a choice.

The candidates for GM basically told him they weren't interested in the job if Judge wasn't fired.

That's how bad the situation was.

Now let's see if they can turn this mess around.

Would love to see them go after Sean Payton....maybe Harbaugh from Michigan?

-keep the coach

And to think Mara was going to keep this clown up until a few weeks ago.

Let's hope they don't fuck up the GM and coach hires.

It's the Last Chance Saloon for these guys.

New QB anyone?

As a Falcons fan, I do not wish Dan Quinn on anybody! (I also do not wish being a Falcons fan on anybody either, for the record) Solid defensive coordinator, would not want him as the head guy.

For Falcons fans it was the old question "What took so long?" to make the decision. Dumbest move Quinn ever made was when he too on the Defensive Coordinator role on TOP of his Head Coaching role. He wasn't even good as Head Coach. Needless to say the defense went downhill.

Supposedly the GM search is down to 3 candidates.

And no to Dan Quinn.

They need an offense guy...that's the trend in today's NFL.

The Giants defense, while not very good this season, was miles better than their offense.

Especially since the defense was on the field a ton due to the horrendous offense.

On top of that he made some horrible OC hires after Shanahan left to. The only reason we ever made it to the infamous Super Bowl was because of Shanahan's offense.

Well Daboll it is.

This GM/coach have to hit a home run.

Don't expect much next year, although improvement is paramount.

With no cap space, they have to ace the upcoming draft.

The usage of "make run at" in this headline is amusing to me, as if Mitch really needs to be convinced to sign with a team outside of a paycheck at this point.
