Magic Dick (with Shun Ng) is at the Stone Courthouse here in West K next weekend. Has anyone seen that act?

J.Geils was also the first concert I ever saw at the Prov. Civic Center (now The Dump) in '74. Tickets were $4.50. The Who played later that year at the same place. Tickets were $8.50. I thought that was outrageous. I didn't go.... The Spring concert with J.Geils was in '75.NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑5 years agoThat is 'totally' topic. Clicked on the video. Then noticed the Chicago performance of 25 or 6 to 4 at Tanglewood in 1970. Their original guitarist was incredibly good; but died very young. Had to listen to Santana too. That was all almost 50 years ago. Damn.

The fact that the Jamaica Classic field is not yet complete may be a factor for it not being released. There will be two home tournament games versus opponents from a group of four teams, two of which are not yet known (only known are NC A&T and Nicholls State.

But they are going to get two teams like that in the tournament. That’s how those things work.
Anyone have any insight into how North Florida* is supposed to look this season? That’s their other game in Jamaica.
ETA- as noted below, it is actually North Texas. I mixed up two of the states that I would never live in.

It is actually north texas. But I think they should be a solid mid major team that definitely has a chance to win their conference. Most of their best players are returning. They had a couple injuries to end the year last year but were really good to start the year. I like them better then bucknell who we played last year.

Hopefully they’ll do better against them then Bucknell.sevegny7 wrote: ↑5 years agoIt is actually north texas. There is a North Florida, The University of North Florida Ospreys out of the Atlantic Sun conference. They had a couple of good years in 2015 and 2016 seasons. At the very least, I would require a climate controlled Pope-mobile like vehicle to transport me around the state. Humidity is my hair’s mortal enemy. We have family in Florida (Miami area and Clearwater). It is very much not my thing.UCH21377 wrote: ↑5 years agoAce never say never. Lived in FL for a number of years. Last year’s conference pairings were announced on June 13. Are we going to get them this week?
Dayton, Davidson, VCU, UMass, and La Salle again? Switch out St. Joe’s maybe?
St. Joe’s games are going to seem so strange this year.

Getting Dayton, Davidson and VCU would be a god send as it would add likely 3 Q1 road games and 3 Q1/Q2 home games pending where they net out after OOC.

Re: 2019-20 Schedule (top post is current)
Yeah north texas started 16 and 1 to start. But really hit a tough stretch with several of there best players getting hurt. They never recovered from that. And fiu and fau really took advantage of them during that injured time. And when the players returned they were not 100% and it showed. If they didnt have those injuries I think they would have won their conference. They are returning at least half of their top 6 scorers. They added a transfer from north dakota state...and a few good juco players.

This has Samford and UMBC included in the travel thing....
If they are in it with NC A&T and Nicholls St then that would be 8 teams.
LSU
URI
Utah State
North Texas
Nicholls St
Samford
NC A&T
UMBC

Re: 2019-20 Schedule (top post is current)
I think our schedule is pretty set now.
We will play five teams involved in the Jamaica classic,(assuming we will get two home cupcake games) along with three games at the tournament in Jamaica.
Those five games added to the seven games already scheduled would give us twelve total. Doubt we will exceed that.

The 4 teams consisting of Nicholls State, Samford, NC A&T and UMBC will not play the upper 4 teams in Jamaica.
The upper 4 teams will play one another in 2 games each . The Tournament will decide which of the 4 teams will play each other
