What a game. Skins just tied it. 35-35.

Great game though.

Don't be surprised if the Giants beat the Eagles next Sunday, and knock them back out of the playoffs.

They should have beaten them a few weeks ago, but their defense did their usual disappearing act late, like they did yesterday.

The only way they won this game was getting the coin toss and the ball to start OT.

If Jerry doesn't fire Garrett now he's really lost his mind. Never saw a team with so much talent choke like they have.

If they had Belicheck they would be in the Super Bowl...of course Bill wouldn't coach any team that has an owner that thinks he knows football and sticks his nose where it doesn't belong.

Urban Meyer has interest, but he wants to run all facets of the football operation.

Good luck with Mr. Jones as your owner.

I'm guessing that Shurmur will keep his job along with Gettleman for one more year.

I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Need o and d linemen and linebackers badly. The secondary is very young and will improve.

Could also use another wide receiver. So many holes to fill.

4 wins against bad teams......even a win against the 8-7 Eagles Sunday with all their injuries won't mean much.

That would hurt their draft position even more, and also would mean the hated Cowboys would win the division.

A lose-lose proposition. Such as it is with the Giants these days.

Shurmur and Gettleman watch is on, as of Monday.

Does one go, or both?

I think Gettleman has a better chance of being shown the door.

Has made way too many mistakes with personnel which has cost the Giants both in performance and cap money.

The Beckham and Collins screwups were killers.

His one hit [Jones] isn't enough to offset all the other gaffes.

Getting Barkley doesn't count. That was an all time no brainer.

Tomorrow will be a bloody day in the NFL.

Damn it, make good choices to replace them for once!

Probably a good move to get rid of them both I don’t think Shurmur is head coach material think he is a good coordinator

Not sure on Gettleman u guys would know better than me

Who will be on the Giants short list for head coach ??

Shurmur is gone.

What about Gettleman?

He's the one largely responsible for several personnel mistakes and the overall lack of talent on this team.

If he stays....no bueno

He's been put on notice though.

Either draft or sign guys or make deals that turn out to be good, not busts.

Imo they should have just canned him and start over...again.

So, who will they sign to coach? I think McDaniels, Rivera, and McCarthy would all be decent choices, which means you can probably rule them out.

Rhule from Baylor is the top choice so I've heard.

Don't know much about him.

College coaches are a dicey choice. He was an assistant with the Giants 7 years ago.

Why take guys like McDaniel, McCarthy or Rivera...who've had success in the league...when you can grab a NOHEHO? It's the Jints Way. Hey, new thread? "THE JINTS WAY"?

McDaniels flopped in Oakland as their coach.

Another OC like Shurmur is NOT what the Giants need.

More of a defensive minded coach would be better.

McDaniels imo might not leave NE until Brady does.

McDaniels coached Denver, and that was nine years ago, when he was a pretty young dude. I think he's an attractive head coaching candidate, but 1) he severely burned the Colts a year or two ago, reneging on a deal to be their coach and 2) he seems to be the "heir apparent" in New England if Belichick ever leaves, and that status means he probably doesn't have to take a shitty job.

The Giants job wouldn't be that appealing to me, because Gettleman wasn't fired, and it's unclear if they have the QB of the Future in Jones. If management is convinced he's still the guy, and he isn't, you're probably not going to get much of a mulligan for year one or year two if Jones fails.

Oops, right division, wrong team.

I don't know what the Giants are thinking keeping Gettleman.

Could definitely affect who they hire as coach. The GM has already made a ton of blunders personnel wise.

How much input does he have with the coaching search? Usually the GM has a big say because he has to work with him...a lot.

Another screw up here and it will be another few years before the Giants can be good again.

They waited too long to can Reese. Same thing again?

The natives are restless big time. And they aren't happy keeping Gettleman.

McDaniels definitely deserves a second chance it’s been awhile since he was a head coach and Belichick didn’t exactly light the world on fire as the Browns head coach and we know how he turned out

Someone reported that Belichick probably wants to break the wins record so that means the Pats job probably isn’t open for another 4-5 years so doubt McDaniels wants to wait that long ???

Belicheck's record at Cleveland was so so at best...but it's Cleveland.

How much input did he have with personnel decisions?

Goes to show that you can't win with a suspect organization...and the Browns have been very bad in that area for a long long time.

And it looks like they still are lol.

Does anybody think it's strange that Jerry hasn't fired Garrett yet?

How many meetings will it take?

My guess is, they are evaluating their assistants/organization and possibly trying to save Garrett's job?

Jerry is quite close to him....of course that hasn't helped them be very good either.

As for the Giants and Gettleman, keeping him is a mistake imo.

I think so...as long as it's not the Giants' job lol.

If Garrett can't win with the Cowboys' talent, imagine what would happen with the Giants'.

Oof.

My thinking now is McCarthy gets the Giants' HC position if Rhule stays at Baylor.

That would be an OK hire imo.

208, I was totally against hiring Garrett for the Giants....now I'm not so sure.

How much of Garrett's issues were due to the Jerry factor?

Did he have one hand tied behind his back due to that?

Also many of his assistants were ex Cowboys....

Most NFL insiders had much praise for Garrett's coaching.....but it was never going to work out in Dallas.

Of course the Giants don't need a "safe" hire again, if that's what he is.....

Whoever the new coach is, he needs a home run hire as DC. The one they just let go was horrendous.

Say what? Garrett's coaching and play calling were pretty bad. Like, their offense had Prescott, Elliott, Cooper and good backups at RB, and they struggled to score the past two years at various points. If anything, I think Jones and the front office has done pretty well as a talent evaluator the past couple years. Their drafts have been decent the past couple years, vs. when Jones first insisted on doing the picks.

Yeah, my brother's a hard core Cowboys fan and he thinks Garrett is horrible. As mentioned previously, her refers to him as male cheerleader and I think of him as elf-on-a-shelf, without the cool hat... Hate to say it though, but even he would be an upgrade over what just left. Just seems like they should be able to do better...

Joe Judge?!?!? The guy that created Beavis and Butthead???

Seriously...I watch less and less f'ball every year because the Gmen stink. Yes, I'm a fair weather fan, but I know a lot of people like me doing the same thing (in my house even). The league needs to take over the franchise, if for no other reason than to stop the hemorrhaging of fans. Good bleeping grief...

Jumpin' Joe Judge. Now there's 2 Judges in NY.

Also Jason Garrett could be the OC.

I've had some weird dreams lately.

This is reality. Even weirder.

Well at least I didn't want Garrett as HC, nor McDaniels.

I'll give this guy a shot...otherwise I could always become a Jets fan...…

How much of this was Gettleman's call? If it was his call, omg.

The Patriots WRs the past few years have been regarded as awful, which makes the hiring decision even more confusing. The Giants somehow landed on one of the few choices that their fan base would like less than Jason Garrett.

bingo...one of my first thoughts was I'd rather have elf-on-a-shelf aka the clapper... and I DID NOT want him....

The league needs to take control of the franchise....for the sake of the league...

I think the Giants wanted Rhule but wouldn’t match the 7 year 60 M contract that Caro gave him

Give Judge a chance both Harbaugh and BB were special teams coordinators and they turned out well

Also saw BB knew JJ was head coach material

Didn’t realize a Judge is only 38 years old very young

Watched Rhule's intro as the Panthers' HC...…

Extremely impressed. He will be a good one.

The Giants should have waited to interview him before they decided to hire Judge. One more day!

It's not like anybody else was about to hire him [Judge].
