I am rooting for Dan to get a T at this point. Rhody would have lost anyway by their own doing but pathetic display by the refs.

When in doubt, take a 3, even though you won't make it.
No one wants to stop pollard's drives.
Defense looks as bad as the offense.
How many t/o's for EC?
Hope we can close the gap.
Dayton is much better than us.

Are we watching the same game? I laugh at comments like this... how in the world would you think we would own this team on a neutral court? They execute much better than us on offense, they have much better shooters, and they dont make stupid unforced errors and play with composure. They have a bona fide superstar player and are very well coached. Other than that, I suppose we would own them.

I think it may be the lack of consistency that is most frustrating about this team. They have sparks of absolute great basketball and then complete washes other times. I am hoping this is just growing pains and we will see more consistent play in the future. Overall, I am happy with what the team has done this season (hopefully more good stuff in Brooklyn) but still get a bad taste in my mouth during games they are capable of playing better in.

All year, we've played worse when the other team's top scorer goes out.

Why go low to Martin when we can miss a 3?

Have to agree with the sentiments this was just poor execution by the Rams. And EC HAS to play off the ball, he is the human ball deflator (insert Deflate-gate joke here).

Need to return the favor in Brooklyn.

I do think Mathews has regressed some or hit a wall. For his sake I hope he takes a good look at what is no longer working and adjusts. His dribble is not good and he came here to become a PG, I'd say he has a whole lot of work to do if he ever thinks he's going to be able to run a team from the point.

we need an offensive coach.. Davidson and Dayton showed how effective a motion offense can be.. We continue to stand around watching guards that don't handle the ball well dribble dribble dribble... Don't want to play this team again..

I still like our chances on a neutral court against anybody in the conference. I get its frustrating, but some of this stuff in here is ridiculous.

Any remote chance at an at large is officially dead. The only route to the NCAA Tournament is now to win out in Brooklyn. This team has the ability to do so but I have strong doubts given their Jeckyl & Hyde ft shooting. They have been all over the place (good and bad) in A-10 league play. The last three games have all been under 60%. We will not win close games if they can't make ft's. Asking for three straight games of good ft shooting from this team is unfortunately a pipe-dream.

@Dayton 52.2% ( 12-23)
@LaSalle 57.9% ( 11-19)
Davidson 48.5% ( 16-33)
@GMU 84.6% ( 22-26)
UMass 71.9% ( 23-32)
SLU 81.8% ( 27-33)
@SJU 72.2% ( 13-18)
@Richmond 56.8% ( 21-37)
GW 90.9% ( 20-22)
@Fordham 40.7% ( 11-27)
SBU 66.7% ( 12-18)
LaSalle 60.9% ( 14-23)
@UMass 64.0% ( 16-25)
VCU 59.1% ( 13-22)
@Duquesne 84.6% ( 11-13)
Fordham 54.3% ( 19-35)
@SLU 73.7% ( 14-19)

Just a question of maturity.

They obviously aren't there for this kind of thing.

Brooklyn is still happening and they get a shot at the hawk. Sieze the day down the stretch or go into the summer and listen to how good everybody is getting.

Get an offensive coach? Ask the refs around the league, it seems they find dan prettty offensive.

Dayton doesn't have to worry about subbing players in and out.

We sub in guys that can't play at this level. We might have more bodies, but they might as well be walk- ons the way they play at times.

BTW, Dayton isn't much older than we are. They start 3 sophs and a junior.

Their starting 5 is just as talented as ours, if not even a little more so.

One more thing. They have a big home court advantage, and the refs in their pocket.

RF1, that's what I've been saying. FT's will get us in NY at some point.

We need more offensive weapons. We are shorthanded in that regard. Dayton has 5 guys that can shoot. We might have one or two on any given day.

Let's look at the positives.

Somewhere there are students at the University of Dayton majoring in "discover arts."

There are none to speak of on the court.

Let's beat St Joes and get the 3 seed.

Sorry, I disagree. We're just not there offensively. We play HARD on defense. But we can't transition it to offense, YET, against good, well-coached teams.

EC needs a reality check. And we need more of an offensive threat. Hopefully it's coming.

Can Hurley coach offense? An honest question, I don't know much about his history when it comes to X's and O's.

Big picture still looks good. Onto Saturday, and then Brooklyn, need to win it all to get in now.

I hate the NIT.

I agree with you adam, it happens and I had a feeling we were due for one against Dayton considering the success we've had against them in the recent past. We all knew going into this game that Rhody is not an offensive powerhouse, we need to be patient in some respects, but the frustration over watching the same mistakes happening over and over is totally justified.

They are out of gas. They were lucky to escape at La Salle. They are flat out tired.
There is not a team in the a10 that works harder on defense. There is not a team in the a-10 that has to work as hard as us to score. It has caught up with us. I see us winning on Friday night but not Saturday.

IMHO, it is difficult to install a different/major change in the offensive package, especially against the zones ......with the talent we put on the floor....at this point in the season....
