Re: Week #12 Games of Interest / Rest of 2022 Season
Interesting to see that UCONN is a 2.5 point favorite at home to #8 Villanova, while just a week ago pc was a 4 point underdog at home to the same team. Shows you what Vegas is thinking about PC. Every game I see in the BE is an absolute war, no easy games in that conference.

Re: Week #12 Games of Interest / Rest of 2022 Season
I believe PC has a very good team BUT its record of 12-2 maybe slightly misleading
10 wins came from teams currently under 500 and 6 wins come from the 3 last place teams teams with a combined record of 3-39

Your boy in Storrs just got his ass ejected in the 1st half of the biggest game of their season. He just can’t help himself.

He also did basically nothing. I'm not sure what he said to get the first one, so maybe there was something there, but the second one appeared to be for waving his arms to pump up the crowd. This ref clearly had a plan going in to this one and thinks everyone showed up to see him blow his whistle. Typical ref show BS.

Told my wife when Hurley got tossed, well they probably won’t choke this one away in the last two minutes. They didn’t.

Re: Week #12 Games of Interest / Rest of 2022 Season
To say it was trash was an understatement. Refs were swallowing whistles for the first 10 mins then started calling a lot of ticky-tack on UConn down the other end. Martin gets obviously fouled with no call, and Hurley turns around and slams the scorers table.adam914 wrote: ↑2 years agoHe also did basically nothing. Legit like 5-6 seconds later with no warning James Breeding, who has a history of run-ins with Hurley, T's him up. Then, after about 1 min of getting things sorted and everyone calming down, Gillispie is on the line to shoot his techs and Hurley turns to hype up the crowd.
That was the most egregious, and potentially fireable offense, I've ever seen out of a ref.
On top of that, 5 minutes later there is an OBVIOUS back court violation where Nova throws the ball overhead and into the back court. Mid-court ref (breeding) doesn't make the call, baseline ref on the otherside of the court has to. Jay Wright comes out on the court to protest saying that it was tipped (it wasn't). Based on what had been called, Wright should've been T'd up - or certainly given a warning.

Was this the same ref, James Breeding, who tossed Blue Man out of the WVU game at Mohegan?adam914 wrote: ↑2 years agoHe also did basically nothing. I know he worked that game and I remember yelling to Brian O'Connell (the silver-haired ref we see a lot of) to take Breeding's whistle away from him because he wasn't fit to use it. Brian did not like me by the end of that game.Blue Man wrote: ↑2 years agoOh. My. That West Virginia game at Mohegan was the worst refereed game I've ever been to. Like upset that they were calling fouls on the other team, terrible for both sides bad

Some say Providence/Xavier are still playing to this very day...and on clear nights, if you turn your radio to WPRO and listen real hard, you can almost hear a basketball game being played.

Not true at all.CaptainRon wrote: ↑2 years agoRule changes eliminated the intentional foul, so now any intentional is called a flagrant.
A flagrant foul is only called when it is deemed excessive, unnecessary, or severe (flagrant 1 or 2).
That wasn't even close in this game, even the announcers were very surprised at the call.
If they call a flagrant on any intentional foul, it would be called during every close game when teams purposely put players on the foul line.
That is never the case.
