Now let’s land Isaiah Miranda!!
Now let’s land Isaiah Miranda!!
Are we talking to him?
Maybe he understands that he will be the future; Luis, House, and Bassy all in their final season, plus Lawrence will be a junior.
I think, for playuhz these days, "maybe I'll be the guy here the year after next"...is not a thought... but, who knows?Jersey77 wrote: ↑1 month agoMaybe he understands that he will be the future; Luis, House, and Bassy all in their final season, plus Lawrence will be a junior.

Cmon. He has averaged 1.5 and 2.1 minutes per game at UConn. You have never seen this play or has anyone else and because he is buried deep on the bench at UConn and plays in 35 point games a few minutes this a major get? I guess we are going to do this game again like we did guys like Tyson Brown, Always Wright and others last year
I have no idea what Miranda’s ceiling is at this point. But, we may as well kick the tires on him ?
Actually !5, I am really good with it.
I always appreciated Thomas hustle. I'm glad he is back. I like the size of the fight in that dog and it was definitely missing on this team last season from some of the now departed players. Is he a major talent? Not really, but I like rooting for the young guy.
If we lose Cam over this then that would not be good.
Lawerence is a very good get, but disappointed with Thomas for one season.Jersey77 wrote: ↑1 month agoActually !5, I am really good with it.
I was very impressed that we were able to land a player like Lawrence who made an impact in the BIG.
Now with Bassy who excelled at Albany and had stepped up his game, we should be solid at guard in our conference.
As I said before, time for frontcourt help now.
Look at it as being a 1-year fix.Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 month agoLawerence is a very good get, but disappointed with Thomas for one season.Jersey77 wrote: ↑1 month agoActually !5, I am really good with it.

And that’s why I’m disappointed, Archie’s third year and the best we get is a senior Sebastian Thomas.Jersey77 wrote: ↑1 month agoLook at it as being a 1-year fix.Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 month agoLawerence is a very good get, but disappointed with Thomas for one season.Jersey77 wrote: ↑1 month ago

After being a bottom tier A10 team and limited NIL, not sure we were going to do much better.

I think if Cam does leave, and I hope he doesn't, that will be an indicator of the size of the fight in the CamDog.DeanDome88 wrote: ↑1 month agoI always appreciated Thomas hustle. Lol the KJ stuff was so back and forth on what was actually happening, there were times he was gone and he wasn't. My shots were mainly pointed at Vault who had next to zero insight and just took a guess and was ultimately right weeks after he said it was happening immediately.Jersey77 wrote: ↑1 month ago Blue Man, are you okay?
You had posted many times that KJ wasn't leaving, and you would have the last laugh.
You also said that Hammond was staying because of Archie.
Now we bring back your favorite Rhody player, Bassy.
Just want to make sure you are all good.
Of course, you realize this is just some friendly razzing.
Hang in there.
That's cool. All in good fun. No question he'll be much better than he was here the first time. (but, I'm still not paying him )Blue Man wrote: ↑1 month agoI put this in another thread too -NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑1 month agoThis is spectacular.....spec- freeking - tacular. I have been mentally preparing myself for this the past 36 hours since I heard.
Even 3 years ago with David Cox, we said the kid was a good, fast, pure PG with good court vision and great ball handling. He just lacked the size or offensive capabilities to be a bona fide all-around player at the A10 level. If the kid doesn't need to shoot, he's certainly an upgrade at PG from a tempo perspective alone. Archie wants to play fast. Bassy can definitely play fast, the dude just can't shoot and his defense was/is suspect.
HOWEVER - on this current team, he's literally the 5th offensive option on the floor at any given time. Lawrence, Green, House, Estevez, Fuchs, Kortright - all are capable scorers across all 3 levels.
The hope is that with some growth and development he can improve his defense - because him being on the floor makes us a better and faster team in transition. If he doesn't need to shoot, I honestly don't hate the move - even if the plan is to start him.
For all his shortcomings, he's easily the best ball handler on the roster now, and no way is Archie going to let him shoot 16 times a game. If he's playing within his role as a pass-first/pass-only PG, the offense will improve. Let's just hope the defense comes with it.
As with anything, I'd love for him to come in here and show some serious growth and development and prove all of us wrong who didn't think he belonged on an A10 roster. Also wouldn't hate if Isaiah Miranda came with.
If we didn't know the kid, we'd all be creaming because we got a guy who averaged 20ppg. Albeit a really, really, really inefficient 20 ppg. With a negative +/- on the defensive side and a D rtg of 107.7 against some really inferior competition.
My sincere hope, is that Archie's defensive system, which is team-focused, will help Bassy's on-ball defensive lapses. Also, I would assume, him coming back indicates an understanding that he'll be passing much more than shooting.
I'm also assuming growth and development all over the place for him if he's coming back. It's either because he wants to prove Archie wrong, or prove Archie right. But I trust Archie, so let's ride.
Regarding Bassy's D I think he did look a lot quicker and stronger when he played. He will be one of our better backcourt defenders, but that's not saying much since we sucked. I think what would happen is Bassy would do so much on the offensive end, but there were times when he caught his breath on the defensive end. The kid had the ball in his hand like 99% of the time and was playing massive minutes. As a 3rd-4th option with a pass-first mentality, I think he can focus more on the defensive end and will do a better job.Blue Man wrote: ↑1 month agoI put this in another thread too -NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑1 month agoThis is spectacular.....spec- freeking - tacular. Hammond was a surprise to leave, but like anything, give me the experience guy over the developing freshman these days.
Bassy, like Fatts, in the right system with the right coach, can be a good PG. I'm assuming Archie didn't bring him in here to shoot 16 times in a game. I think we'll be fine if he plays within himself.

Can we go one day without you or ELM talking shit about Rhody Excellence? We got it. You won't pay.
I hope it's not House. That would suck. I love Cam, but I'd get it if he left. It seems like Luis really likes Rhody, so I don't think it's him, but you're right. Someone will leave 100%Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 month ago Luis and Always have to be leaving.
House, Always, Luis, Thomas, Lawerence, Cam is a logjam.
You’d expect Luis/Always would be getting minimal minutes now.
Lawerence and Thomas didn’t come here to be bench pieces.
House isn’t staying to come off the bench.
That leaves Cam as the 4th guard? He can’t be too happy with that.
Last I heard Cam was very happy to here, things change this time of year tho so who knows.Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 month ago Luis and Always have to be leaving.
