This was news to me, but apparently we reached out to Pitino last off-season.

Take down the Robert Carothers banner and fix the concession stand lines

I highly doubt that anyone in the URI administration came calling for Pitino last year. I however would not be surprised if some unauthorized rogue booster on their own made communication with him about URI. This is however far different than the institution URI calling. Just more BS from Pitino pumping his profile and ego.
