Or that he moved down a level. Is the primary scorer and allowed to do what he wants offensively.

He’s still shooting it at sub 30% from 3, low 40s overall. Committing almost 3 TOs / game.

No shade meant here happy for Bassy and any RIIL kid who goes out there and plays D1 ball at any level.

But everything isn’t an indictment on Archie. And it dilutes the criticisms that have merit.

I know what you're saying bar, but right now programs "down a level" are beating us, and that's beyond disgusting on any level.

There’s no denying it’s a strong start for English. Portalpalooza problems helped him keep some pieces that might have bolted but he’s off to a great start and should be able to recruit more top talent.

Very grim for us indeed.

The A-10 finished the day at 12-1. This may have concluded the OOC for the league. If so, it was the conference's best w/l record (131-60 .686) in many years. The only losing records were had by URI and Fordham who both finished 6-7.

All A10 OOC Games are now completed. Next up are 18 A10 Conference Games for each team.

A10 went 5-22 in QUAD 1 Games as Dayton went 3-2 and St Joseph’s went 2-1 in QUAD 1 Games. The other 13 A10 Teams collectively went 0-19 in QUAD 1 Games.

Would be interesting to note the home/road/neutral split on those records. I would venture to guess BE had more home/neutral?

Also comparing us to BE is sorta a moot point. More impt is how we do amongst our peer leagues in that next tier - AAC, MWC, WCC.

Lol. Why don’t you wait to see how they do against some A-10 teams first before you anoint them as a threat. Remember they beat Northeastern at home who is one of the lower end teams in their conference. It is nice to get a win, but this is a team with a ton of work to do.

Who knows, but a lot of teams can see that about missing key players for one reason or another.

Duquesne still has I OOC game left, 1/31 against Chicago State.

The A-10 definitely had a better OOC this year than last, but the only team that probably earned an at-large as of now is Dayton. After that, there is a grouping of eight teams from roughly 50 to 104 NET that can maybe get up to that 30 to 45 range, if they have a gaudy conference record (like 13 or 14+ wins).

SG, I agree that Dayton right now looks to be the only team capable of an at-large.
The best bet for the A10 to get 2 teams in the NCAAT is for Dayton to lose in the finals of the A10T.
Not even sure if them or any other team is capable of going on a major run in conference play.

Looking at the past five years, usually at least two teams and as many as five teams have had a .700+ winning percentage in conference play. I think it would depend on who the losses are to, but there's a chance that a team like St. Joe's could get to where Dayton is at now, for example.

If the A10 can get 3 teams in this year, that would give the conference some cred nationally. Let's hope it happens and then we hope they turned the corner.

I just have a feeling this season the A10 teams will just keep knocking each other off.
Even the bottom tier teams are capable of being spoilers.

Exactly this. The problem with the A10 (beyond the battleaxe) is that the top tier programs haven’t got Q1 wins while simultaneously getting a Q4 loss without fail.

Top to bottom anyone can beat anyone, so this says we’re a 1 bid league unless Dayton wins 14+

Just get some big wins and avoid bad losses.
Like I said the best hope to get more than 1 team in is for some team other than Dayton to win the A10T.

Maybe, but Dayton right now has an At Large bid with a NET of 25. If they maintain they are in. I think the A10 has 8 teams in the top 100 NET. If another team can hold court like SJU, they would be an at large. But yeah, lately the A10 has crapped themselves so let's see hat happens.

While I don’t necessarily disagree, I don’t think that’s reality simply because it’s a committee selection and not math.

Yes, the math is definitely there, but when it comes down to the blind resumes, those low end Q1 wins paired against Q4 losses will be outside looking in unfortunately.

Was just looking at the A10 (NET 8), the MWC (NET 7) and MVC (NET 9) just for the heck of it since they are ranked close to each other.

The MWC as of today has an argument for 5 bids while the next two rated conferences - A10 and MVC - look like 1 bid or maybe 2 if there is a conf tourney upset.

That’s a big gap in potential bids for 1-2 spots in conf net rankings. That’s wild. Quite a drop off.

You can't have an argument for a bid before conference play starts. You just can't.
You can lose any argument for an at large bid, but you can't seal one before conference play, unless you know you can roll through conference play. And, hard tellin', not knowin' at this point. Tomorrow's Rhody win might not even seem like an upset two weeks from now.

Neither of those other leagues is as diluted as ours.

Just saw Fordham and GW went to 3 OTs and Fordham won 119-113!! Don't see too many college scores like that!

PC drops a home game to Seton Hall, little cherry on top for the night.

With a potential very serious knee injury to Hopkins, not great.

Davidson was without starting center and leading scorer Skogman.
His foot was in a boot.

When you look at the NET ratings, I’ve never seen the A10 with so many top 100 teams that won’t have NCAA resumes.

This Davidson team doesn’t shoot well, if they don’t have skogman for the game Tuesday I like the matchup

With or without Skogman they can be had.
