I actually like Richmond at home in this one.
They play the Bonnies again next month in Olean.
Tyler Burton hits for 37 points and 7 rebounds as Richmond beats St Bonaventure 71-61. Richmond was 3.5 point favorites.

Bonnies fall to 4-4 in A10 - say it ain't so Mark Schmidt.

Richmond NET 86
Bonnies NET 102
Really good call 77

Jeez Tyler Burton and we didn’t even recruit him and he’s local

Schmidty probably cost himself cash after last season could have jumped P6
His father went to PC and they didn't recruit him either.

URI did recruit Burton.
  • Burton attended the Davidson @ URI Friday night game Feb 9, 2018. URI beat Davidson 72-59 for our 15th straight win in front of a sold out Ryan Center 7,743 attendance. We went to 20-3, 12-0 with the win.
  • Dan Hurley resigns URI March 22, 2018
  • David Cox named HC April 6, 2018
  • Burton tweeted himself excited to receive an offer from URI on April 12, 2018
  • Burton tweeted his Top 6 August 16, 2018: URI, Richmond, St Bonaventure, Sienna, Quinnipiac, Northeastern
  • Official visit to URI set for October 19, 2018 was announced August 21, 2018
  • Official visit to Richmond September 9, 2018
  • Burton announces verbal commit to Richmond September 16, 2018 therefore no visit to URI

20-3 12-0.... those were the days....

Reef,
You may know about these twins. Michael and Marcus Weathers.
They reunited this year at SMU for their final year of eligibility and they led SMU to an upset win over #6 Houston tonight.

Marcus Weathers had 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Michael had 17 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists.

And yes there was a court storming at Moody Coliseum on the SMU Campus

Due to a Covid reschedule, Richmond and GMU played each other home and home twice in the last 3 days. Both down to the wire, with Richmond scoring a last second 3 (after Gaines of GMU missed a layup for a lead) for the 62-59 win. Tonight, even closer as the game went to OT. This time Gaines makes 2 FTs to put GMU up 87-84 with 12 seconds left and GMU hangs on for the OT win.

It was fun to watch a good game like that.

As someone in Houston, I've been amazed at how they've been able to persevere. They lost one starter for the year, who was their leading scorer (Sasser), and a 20 MPG reserve also got hurt for the year.

John Becker’s UVM Catamounts routed Binghamton 82-51 to move to 19-4 (11-0). Vermont has now won 13 in a row with their last loss coming at PC, 68-58. The last time Vermont didn’t win by double digits was December 10th.

Bashir Mason and Wagner are having a fantastic season. They just lost their second leading scorer, but they’re 13-0 in conference play, 17-2 overall. They had some seniors return for their extra year and are making the best of it. One bid conferences are not for the faint of heart, though.

Jordan Bohanan with 10 3’s hitting 10-16! Record for Iowa and for an opponent in that building.
Maryland was a preseason Top 25 team. Not looking good for Danny Manning to land a good job after this.
Lots of empty seats.
Will be interesting to see who lands the Terps job.

UVM really shoots the heck out of the ball. I know that he is a name that has been mentioned as a potential coach here if either side moves on, but I think it would be a painful rebuild. Our current roster doesn't seem suited for his style of play. And I am not saying this as a "diss" towards Becker, Cox, or our current players.

If we do move on from Cox, get the coach we need without considering the roster. While it would be sad if some current players or recruits leave, the right coach will make that a short blip.

I always found this odd. Like, we suck. We are so sucky at literally everything in our program right now top to bottom. We've undone everything great in 4 years, and it honestly feels like we will not be as relevant or fun as we were 2016-2018 for another 4-6 years, potentially going a decade between NCAA appearances.

If your satisfaction in life comes from PC losing (a top 10 Q1 game), in a season that has a chance to be their best ever, it's just sad.

Direct your passion and anger inward, demand better of our school and basketball program so we can get back to the level where we were competitive with PC as the best team in the state.

This is just a sad look. People in glass houses...

PC has a nice team, and Cooley is getting them to overachieve at this point. I didn't see any pre season polls having pc in the top 5 of the conference predictions. In the few times I've seen them play, they look like they can compete with the elite teams in the country. They have however, been on the better side of luck with scheduling and injuries to opposing players so I look at their record with a little bit of skepticism. They are the first place BE team ranked 8th in the country, but yet they were 4 pt underdogs at home to Nova so it would appear Vegas is also not sold on them.

They're 45th in KenPom, up two spots from 47th after last night. They're also first by a WIDE margin in KenPom's luck metric. One way or another, their AP rank and their KenPom rank will start closing in on each other in the next few weeks.

6 games vs bottom 3 teams- depaul/st johns and georgetown
only 3 vs Uconn/seton hall and creighton

They were also eight points underdogs st Xavier and 3 at St John's how'd those games turn out? Just because Vegas has wrong spreads does not mean they are right.

Not sure after last night, but heading into the game they were, at one point, tied with the 2008 Wagner team for the luckiest team in KenPom's site history.

They were also eight points underdogs st Xavier and 3 at St John's how'd those games turn out? Just because Vegas has wrong spreads does not mean they are right.
Too bad they can't have spreads @ Creighton, @ Seton Hall, and home UConn, god forbid someone actively tries making up those games.

I bet other teams in the conference would love to play 4 shit/bottom of the Big East teams (St Johns, Georgetown, Butler, St Johns) a total of 8 times as well.

They are obviously very talented, with second weekend potential.

But let's not try and act like they've played a gauntlet of Big East teams this season.

It was entirely up to the Big East office on making up the games. If you don't think they wanted the gate for the UCONN game not sure what I can tell ya.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

The cancellations/postponements certainly worked to their advantage.

You're actually making my point for me, the home team is usually given a slight advantage in the point spread after the other metrics are factored in, pc was at home vs. a lower ranked Nova team and was still a 4 pt underdog.

This is definitely their best team since Cooley been there , I think they are probably between the 12th and 18th best team in the country

I hope for Cooley's sake he wins a game in the NCAAT. Their fans will be all over him if he doesn't make the second weekend.

After this regular season, one game would be a massive disappointment.

He already won one, he needs at least 2 wins seeing how they’ll be a 3/4 seed.
