‘20 TN PG - Norance Tres Berry (URI ---> Charleston Southern)

When I got in at 6:00, TJ and Austin and the two recruits walked by me in the runway and were being shown around. They went up to the 2nd level and I think they went into the alumni lounge. Tres looks very athletic... long, strong and lean. He was easy to spot. He was the one wearing the orange hoodie. They definitely saw what a great atmosphere can be at the RC. I'd love to get them both.

Little nugget - Maze Elite AAU Team that Norance and Akeem play one is run by Bobby Maze, who is from the DC area, and knows Cox and TJ well.

Tres posted a video on IG last night from hotel in Newport. Showed the SI cover with Tres and Akeem together in Rhody shirts. I think the headline said Dynamic Duo.

I believe Berry is further along in his decision process. Akeem’s initial goal was to do 5 visits but as we all know that can change quickly if a recruit has a great visit that meets all of his expectations.

Our chances of course aren't as good if they don't commit to us right away.

Especially if they schedule and go to more visits.

Neither has any other visits set yet correct?

I think we will have Berry sewn up, Akeem will likely go on more visits, then realize, this is likely the only option where he would playing significant minutes early.

He should realize right now that this is the place where he could play a lot starting next season.

I'm sure Cox is telling him that today...of course no guarantees but close as it gets!

That might happen. You never know. It’s always best to have the first OV.
Especially in this case when he has basically eliminated the schools that he did an unofficial visit to.

If Berry did commit he would try to sell Akeem immediately.

Akeem doesn’t currently have any other official visits scheduled.

I think both of these guys playing for Rhody would be great for the team and them. They've likely already developed a chemistry in AAU and bringing that to URI would put them ahead of the game in the team chemistry department. It can take a while for a team to develop the right chemistry. Just look at how URI played lasted year and look how these guys played against VCU. They're sharing the ball more, and multiple people are stepping up at different times in different games to pick up the slack for one another. Developing an understanding on how each other likes to operate or where they like to have the ball placed can take time. I think it would be a tremendous plus to have two guys come in as Freshman who are already on the same page with one another.
Would love to see these two here next year!

Team played great

Scheduled before HS and College Trams start their tournaments

School back in Session

Game with VCU where players from Tennessee can relate to

Inability to text and check internet in the Ryan Center kept them focused on the game

well, if nothing else, you can say that Cox and Rhody put their best foot forward for these two recruits. Not much more you could have done, either way. Hopefully they were impressed.

Add to it national game on ESPN network. Tres and Akeem met the ESPN announcers before the game.

You are forgetting the family that came with the two recruits. Recruits and family makes 6. It could be more if anyone came from B Maze.

When I saw them walking around the RC on Friday, there were only 2 adults with them, and also sitting with them during the game. I'll subtract 2 coaches and put them out recruiting at the NPSI at RIC.

Were you already following him? I only give the follow once they sign. If you were following him pre privatizing youd still be good. Doesn't really matter. Bmazeelite was pretty good about sharing his posts.

He also deleted the Instagram post he had of him sitting in the stands at uri during game friday. Not saying that's a sign of anything just saying. Following these kids are cool to see behind the scenes. But double edged sword because we (me included) read a little too much into every bit of activity. Especially after an official. Hopefully we hear something by early this upcoming week

I feel similar to how I did with Ish. We got him, but he wants to commit on his terms. See how he feels in a few days. I respect the thought process. Smart kids make rational decisions, and dont act purely on emotion. Of course. This makes me want him even more.
